Forums - Gaming - Did you go Genesis/Mega Drive or Super Nintendo?

I was 5 when I saved up $60 bucks and got a SNES (it actually cost most but my dad covered me ;) I still play my SNES, I love it, it has some of my favorite console games of all time (Lttp being my all time favorite) I also loved Super Mario World not just because it is the best 2d platformer ever IMO but it also is shortened to SMW which just happens to be my initials hehe...

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

I got the Sega Genesis for my six birthday Just over a month after it came out but it wasn't my first Sega system that Honor goes to the Master System. Since that time. I remained a Sega Console supporter up until they stopped manufacturing the Dreamcast. I still enjoy the games that they produce and am looking forward to Valkyrie Chronicles.

Systems I own (Games)

Sega: Dreamcast (40) , Saturn (25), Genesis (50), Masters System (10), Game Gear (20)

Sony: PS1 (8), PS2 (60) , PS3 (5), PSP (12)

Atari: 2600 (18) , 7800 (10), Lynx (10)

Well what got me into gaming was the Sega Genesis. I remember it was around christmas and my stepdad just bought his own Sega Genesis or I think he went out at the time and got Sega Saturn and passed the Sega Genesis down to me and my sisters.

The first game I ever played on the Sega Genesis was Mortal Kombat. I remember I was so hooked to it and then I played Sonic the Hedgehog and I couldn't get enough of it.

Those were the best years of my life.

I thank Sega for their astounding work at the time of the Sega Genesis life. I never got to play a SNES or NES, but I did play the successor to those consoles, which was the N64. But the GameBoy Color is what really got me liking Nintendo.
