I don’t think anyone has been confirmed killed by an Australian spider within Australia in the last 45 years. There was one guy 9 years ago, but they couldn’t agree on it as cause of death. Wide availability of antivenom to medical staff helps a lot. Australian Funnelweb spiders are still scary enough to punish evil corporates with though.
