Yes, it's like that. Trailers even showed that the location can be flipped upside down. |
I hardly watched anything of the game because I thought it was 'classic' Castlevania. Thanks :).
I bought the game today on Steam and I'm really enjoying it.

That to go with the graphic and frame-rate reductions we already knew about. Bummer as I really wanted this on Switch.

Yeah, and keep in mind that map progression tends to happen more frequently in the early stages of the game, because then you're almost always headed into new and unexplored territory. Once you start backtracking more, map progression starts slowing down. |
So, I got the bad ending at just under 10 hours, keeping in mind I probably have an hour or two of AFK time as well. I don't feel as if I've been rushing either. Of course, the game really opened up just before the bad ending, so I know there's some stuff that I haven't yet explored and at least 1 boss available that I didn't kill yet. I just came upon the bad ending without any warning really.

Makes you wonder how a WiiU or Vita version would have performed. I'm guessing not too well.
Decided to not buy the game until they improve the Switch-version. I don't mind the graphical downgrades, but choppy framerate and input-lag is not good

I wish I could be part of that chatter, but unfortunately they decided that, at 12:36 PM of the release date, the game is still unavailable. Either way, it does seem like I'll have to do the piratebay thing. Oh well. |
I had the same problem with Cuphead but I was able to do something to get it to activate, but don't know exactly what it was. I know I went into the eShop and selected the game there to see if there was some kind of "activate" button even though I had already pre-bought it, and I think I also rebooted the Switch. In any case, the game became active at some point during the process and I was able to start playing.
Or it all might have been a coincidence, lol.

It gives you a clear game over screen. I think people should be fine.
