I like what Nintendo does now. They allow autonomy of the indie developer in publishing while offering free aid for marketing their products.

There are indie developers who do make exclusives though, or at least console exclusive. Switch already has quite a few exclusive indie games under its belt.

Golf Story is one of them. Along with upcoming games like Syonara Wild Hearts and The Red Lantern. Even games like My Friend Pedro are at least console exclusive. I get that indies like to port to all available platforms, but exclusives aren't actually uncommon.
