This game has been in development for long before MS even acquired them. So no, they're not "forcing" NT to make a multiplayer game.

sadly these types of dumb uninformed accusation reactions that are all over the place were inevitable ever since the game had been rumored for months now to be multiplayer focused up until it's reveal

you could spell out what you said in big red letters right in front of people and it still wouldn't stop the "see microsoft is forcing their devs to make multiplayer games, so much for creative freedom" shitposting tbh

On the topic of the actual game though I think it looks interesting but need to see more, and an alpha later this month means that we could hopefully see some actual gameplay demos soon, maybe even on stage

will need to see more but for now it doesn't look or sound interesting.

too bad it leaked

MP games don't interest me so good play to the folks that like.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Of course MS is gonna make their Devs make multiplayer games

Though I might check it out if it's good

It is funny how one month ago people were saying: "Those studios that MS just bought are only going to have games ready for next generation because games takes 3-4 years of development"

And now all of a sudden MS is forcing them to develop a game in one year lol.

Yes, let's pretend MS fans haven't been excusing MS not making studios for 4 years on X1 because it took time to make studios. And sure if you buy a dev they will probably have some games on the oven.

I'm having the hardest time trying to understand how that has anything to do with what I said.

Yes, Ms fans, PS fans and Nintendo fans have all been making excuses for all sorts of things in their beloved companies, for decades.

But here we were talking about one SPECIFIC INSTANCE.

Are we really gonna start a list of all the excuses the fanbases have made over the years?

It is a very direct case.

MS Fans before buying studios "MS isn't creating/buying new studios because it takes years to build a studio".

After they bought some then PS fans "It will take some years for they to release good games".

You can't really point fingers to people claiming it will take years for the good games when that was exactly what MS fanbase were saying just before. Much less say it doesn't have to do with this specific instance.

But I wasn't pointing fingers for the "it takes years to develop games" part. I think in that part we can all agree.

I was just pointing out the ridiculousness of the notion that ANY publisher would force a developer to develop a game in ONE year. Specially when we have had the discussion about "games take years to develop" just a couple of months ago.

Understood, my bad then. Just very simple indies would take less than one year nowadays. Even sequels or Ubi sequels have like a 3 year interval with 3 teams rotation.
