On the whole I liked it.

The new normal pokemon were awesome, there seems to a huge open area with controllable camera, pokemon in the overworld (while not getting rid of random encounters).

Dynamax is just stupid. How about, just not have a stupid gimmick? It was megas in gen 6, z-moves in gen 7 and this now.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

The world look decent.
The characters looks kinda bad.
The pokemon so far look surprisingly good.
Pokemon walking in the wild looks good.
Pokemon gym as stadiums look dumb.
Dynamax looks really stupid.
Sif is back!

Mixed feelings, they could just forget this dynamax feature entirely, sadly it'll be very present in the game, during all gym battles, and to even be able to catch some pokemon...
Without the impressions would be pretty positive.

People are saying Dynamax might only be available during Gym battles and Raid Battles. Bevause there is a section where they said the Staidum is built for the pokemons to turn big.

I hope it is true because that would be crazy using it in the wild.

If it is out of the competitive game and normal gameplay it's something.

But they already said you'll need to do raid battles to capture some pokemon...

The disco ball pokeball to use on them was cool, at least.

I think the raid battles will be used for special events. Like in Pokemon Go there are certain events where they put legendaries through raid battles for like 2 days.

Maybe not in the wild, but it sure looks like it can be used in online, and well, that's bad enough.

I wish someone could just talk some fucking sense into Game Freak. Mostly everyone likes Mega Evolutions and dislikes the gimmicks that came later. Is it that hard to stop shoehorning dumb gimmicks into the game and give people something that's actually, you know, good?

That would suck. I hope there will be different modes/options for it. And I feel like they are using these gimmicks for the younger audience. I for one will like this one because visuals will be nice to look at.

I really don't understand why we can't just have megas be continued? I cut GF a lot of flack and don't like to hate on them as much as a lot of fans do, but do they really have that little awareness of how well received megas are in the fanbase and how poorly received these other gimmicks since have been? Everyone wants new megas and there's so much cool potential on the table there. That is probably the only thing that really irritates me about these games so far. Unless Megas are back. But Dynamax still looks really, really dumb and pointless though.

I'm not reading that leak,lol.

BTW, being a more casual player makes it weird when I hear so much negativity from some for the inclusion of a gimmick like Dynamax, that imo doesn't look bad at all, I'd say some kind of pace breaker like those are necessary if you don't want your general experience to get dull fast since they can only go so far with the actual turn based formula.

Also if this means I can "piss off" a certain raccoon with my sig then I'm all for it :P

SAVAGE!

In my eyes, have super large pokemon is cool. That just makes the battle feel grander. And spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't read the leak, an addition feature will make the dynomaxxing not become tiring imo. Gamefreak is doing an awesome job at the moment

Megas were at least nice.

We got new temporary evolutions (could be definitive, give'em numbers!) and with them some really cool designs.

Also Charizard was finally able to become a dragon-type, which was so damn long overdue haha.

Its was an instant win button that broke the game. In the game it was introduced, it was poorly implemented, as only 3 opponents you face in the entire campaign use megas. Not even the elite 4 used em.

It was used as gen 1 pandering, instead of giving pokemon who were overlooked and often out of the spotlight. Speaking of that, Banette deserved a full evolution, not a temporary super saiyan form.

Not a single gen 6 pokemon got a mega, except a damn mythical.

For everyone complaining about the graphics, don't worry.
There is a Day 1 graphics update patch coming.

But I was told the Switch can't handle photorealistic graphics

Spoiler!
Aaaaaawwwww they're so cute
