Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS Now vs Xbox Gamepass in revenue. What to believe?

Tagged games:

I was a gamepass subscriber for a month for $1. Padding the subscription numbers. A month was enough to sample the PC offerings. I have not tried PS now, remote play has not given me any confidence in game streaming.

Now it turns out PS Now apparently has 700K subscribers...

Try to at least comprehend what you read.

The (average) annual INCREASE in subscribers is 700k.

Wording is kinda weird, but I kinda agree that this is what it likely means.  This year it has increased 700k.

"The average annual increase in paid subscribers has exceeded 40% since the service was launched and the number of users has increased around the same amount every year, reaching approximately 700,000 today. "

SONY needs to clarify imo.

Either way, I don't support either service. I don't even sub to Live anymore.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

The thing is many websites are claiming it has 700K users, this website included.

I think you're the only person that could properly translate Sony speak.

Gamepass has some really good, really new content, lets you download 100% of the time, and has discounts in case you want to buy. If I didn't already buy every game that I wanted, I'd jump on it.

I've always been lukewarm about the PSNow service. They've done things to improve it but it just doesn't speak to me.

No idea who to believe but I could see gamepass being a bit hit. They really have been pushing it and the gaming media seems to be behind it, as well.

I believe there is an audience not interested in paying $60 for new games but open to paying $10 a month for a library of games, including new games. If that's a few millions of people, that's great revenue on top of people buying games. It appears Forza Horizon 4 did great in sales and helped hype Gamepass, seems like that's a best case scenario.

Gears 5 and Halo Infinite are games I imagine will really help the service grow. But there will likely be other notable games as well.
