Forums - Sony - APB coming to PS3 too?

Realtime Worlds has told GamesIndustry.biz that will be "looking seriously" at the possibility of bringing MMO All Points Bulletin to the PS3.

So far, APB has only officially been confirmed for PC and Xbox 360. But an article published by The Scotsman this morning suggested the game could come to PlayStation in the future. The article also quoted Realtime boss David Jones as saying APB is slated for a 2009 launch.

Studio manager Colin MacDonald has since clarified the situation, sort of, telling GamesIndustry.biz: "The situation is that yes, all the consoles are an option for us, and we'll be looking at them. But there's nothing decided, nothing to report at the moment I'm afraid.

"Yes, we'll be looking seriously at it," He continued. "But that doesn't mean it's going ahead, and it doesn't mean it's not going ahead." Right.

For those who aren't familiar, All Points Bulletin is a GTA-style MMO. It's looking rather spanky, judging by what was shown at this year's GDC.

At GamesIndustry.biz, there's always something to report.

Hmmm. I dunno, sorta doubt it. Arent they affiliated with Microsoft?

 Consoles: Wii & PS3.

This game should be great, so it would be excellent news for PS3 owners. It's the only 360 console-exclusive that I am really interested in.

I'll probably opt for the PC version though.

Interesting... I was under the impression RTW was a second-party of Microsoft?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Would be good, game looks really interesting.

RTM worlds is not owned by MS, they are an independent company so they could do it.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I'm not really that interested in the game.....and it doesn't matter too much to me cuz I have both consoles. But regardless, I probably won't be getting it.

The developer is Realtime, but the publisher is Webzan who appears to be focusing their efforts towards the 360. Further more they are basically competing against Sony on their particular gaming front. Sony got NCsoft on board for the PS3, and Microsoft seems to have gotten Webzan on board for the 360.

Realtime probably has the option to publish the game for other platforms if they so desire, but they will probably wait to see how successful the title is first. No point in ponying up the publishing costs unless they are sure to make enough profit to justify doing so in the first place.

Most likely the title will arrive on the 360 and PC, but will probably not be a major seller. The problem is that it is a open world GTA based around multiplayer. The problem is that we will be seeing such a game in a fortnight. So a year short and an innovative concept late to the party they will probably be. Unless the game sees a drastic redesign for differentiation purposes it will probably not garner millions of sales.

Yeah, I thought this was second-party, but the more games the better, so hopefully they do decide to add PS3 support. As I commented before, the game actually does look pretty innovative.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I'm not very interested in this title at all.

I still hope it hits the PS3 though, for gamers who own the system and might want to play it, and to add more diversity to the current PS3 library.
