I can never tell if these threads by kirby007 are real or jokes.

Usually, we only find out when the thread has been proved right or wrong.

Whenever kirby007 ends up being wrong, he is always kind enough to let us know that it was indeed just a joke thread.

Assuming both PS5 and Nextbox launches holiday 2020, Switch will be at 60M+ and by the time the likely twins would be in a position to pass Switch we would likely see the next Nintendo console launching already.

Actually if you look past my threads/posts before 2015 you would be wiser

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I'm sorry if it came out antagonizing. I meant no harm.

I was only teasing you a little and I don't know anything about your older threads/posts.

Why you ask?

Its quite simple really as seen in the interview the PS5 is build to be futureproof and has a solid predecessor in the PS4.

The XB4 in the other corner, is rumored to be weaker and doesnt have the same library and most games will be playable on pc anyway. Besides how strong will the brand be after the flipflop known as the XBO.

And then we have the NS a great console but so far behind the curve most tvs wont cater to its resolution in a few years. Doubtfull if even the NSpro will handle stable 1440p/60fps. And ofcourse half its sales have been made in the current gen.

Thus my expectation for next gen which will result saleswise in the order Ps5>xb4>nsw

How is the PS5 more future proof than the ps4? Wasn't the PS4 supposed to last ten years?

The Xbox has by FAR the highest ceiling of any of the big three because of all the companies they've been buying. Their software output next cycle is going to make Sony and Nintendo look like jokes, and I say this as a Nintendo Fan first and foremost. The PC part is going to appeal to PC gamers and is going to lead to even more software sales, which is really the only thing that matters since hardware rarely profits much and often is sold at a loss or break even.

You really think in a few years (which means 3), that TVs won't do 1080p? HAHA. 4k resolution, I bet, won't be even 50% adopted by 2022. Nintendo is fine. The Switch is fine. And the Switch 2.0 will be fine.

I can't even comprehend any of this.

Like someone already said, buying studios is one thing, but producing games is quite another. Producing successful new IPs is yet another. Sony has been at this for at least a decade and they are now reaping the rewards.

Besides, there's always the option to play MS games on the PC looming in the background and now they seem to be releasing their games on other platforms as well. There's actually less and less reasons to buy an Xbox console as time passes.

But we shall see how all this plays out, it's going to be interesting with the new streaming options entering the stage as well.

If you mean the sales after the other 2 are released, then of course switch will be past it's best years and probably sell more than PS5 and NeXtBox for 2 years like the PS4 did over the switch. Than switch will naturally wind down and sell less than the power twins. But if you mean total sales, switch is charting pretty similar to PS4 so 90+mil is guaranteed. I don't think NeXtBox will sell that well and not sure about PS5. Sony has a history of messing up after a successful console.

Yes, Sony messing up PS3 have it selling 85M... PS1 was sucessful, and they didn't mess PS2 because of it.

Well we all do agree that a gen only starts when Sony says so. So we should ask Sony to classify under what gen WiiU and Switch goes to.

Can't we just call it GEN 8.5 in this case ? I mean Sony and Microsoft had the implementation of more powerful hardware in the same window as the Switch was released so I guess to be fair to consider it to be an in-between.

Does Switch strike you as a half-step like the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X?

Its half the console compared to the wii u

Wii U = 176 Gflops
Switch = 393 Gflops

PS4 = 1,840 Gflops
PS4pro = 4,200 Gflops

By the numbers? yes. Its very much a half-step like the PS4Pro (smaller step up, than the PS4pro is).
But you sorta have a point anyways.... its not like their the same machines that play the same games, even though the switch did see alot of Wii U ports.

Dude the PS3 lost money all throughout it's life while Wii U was even and even made a little money for ninty by the time it ended. And I'm not saying it's a trend, but there is precedent. Considering only 4 gens, messing 1 gen after another successful gen is still a very big deal. Whether it's a trend or an exception will be decided by PS4 since that will be the 2nd time that Sony either produces 2 successful consoles in a row or a failure after a success. Sales aren't the only thing and PS3 was most definitely a failure
