1.  Depends what your endgame is.  Since you proposed this option to boost Biden's approval ratings, there is a full anthology of domestic policies in which attention may be given.  If Taiwan is your actual concern, there are various diplomatic avenues to choose from.  Assassinating world leaders as a first resort is generally the worst among bad options.

2.  Actually, that would be the former chairman of West Korea, Kim Jong-Drumpf.  Dismantling the previous Administration's global pandemic response network (which included shutting down multiple offices in China) prevented efficient communication between health agencies and rendered an effective, coordinated response to be virtually impossible.  Had Dorito Mussolini been a capable leader who opted not to sow chaos and confusion at every conceivable turn, perhaps then world leaders would have been able to present a unified front against World War Covid, but IQ45 couldn't even manage that.  Thanks to his incompetence, a sizeable number of rightists worldwide are resisting even the most basic steps to slowing the spread of the Plague.

Well, in WW2, the US sold England all sorts of military hardware so we could defend the island.  The same option could work for Taiwan as well; as an island nation, they have a defensive advantage.  It would prevent them from becoming dependent on the presence of foreign soldiers (unlike the Afghanistan approach), but it would increase a military presence in their waters while the hardware is transported.  Since this is purely a financial transaction, that military presence would not be provocative (though the Chinese government would certainly howl about it anyways) and passively act as a deterrence against an invasion.  The new tech would complicate any military offensive against Taiwan, and Taiwan could be extended a similar deal as England as far as selling items on credit with interest rates they should easily afford.  

Personally I prefer diplomacy, but if you are hellbent on a military solution, this one is viable and can help all sides avoid armed conflict.

Not to mention populations larger than every continent except Asia itself, or a larger population than the entire western world combined. Half of China’s states have larger populations than the UK. Even without China having nuclear weapons, the western world could not possibly muster an invasion force large enough to beat China on its own soil. They’d not only be facing the PLA and the People’s Armed Police, but hundreds of millions of civilians armed with whatever weapons they could lay their hands on.
