Not sure if that makes sense. If the Liberals are already extreme would they not already accept extremists. |
Middle of the road liberals will not vote for an extreme liberal agenda, which is what we have today. They end up voting third party. Middle of the roads conservatives are much more loyal and will vote conservative regardless of the level of extremism. Time will tell if I am correct, but I believe I am. And I believe in the mid terms we will see liberals get slaughtered in the booths. |
I have no clue what is a middle of a road Liberal is. Maybe the word liberal is not the correct term. If you say Dem, then that is a little more defining since you can say left, middle and right Dems. Usually the liberal term is used for the left.
I agree that most conservatives will vote GOP no matter how right the party goes which I agree is their strength. You can bring up a lot of polices conservatives would agree that is good even if they come from a liberal candidate but when asked if they would vote for that candidate well that is something totally different.
I have had this conversation with many conservative friends I have. They all would love for Medicare for All as long as they have a choice, paid family leave etc but the if you ask them in order to get those items would they vote for Bernie Sanders, Biden or any Dem, well that is where they draw the line. Just because a particular piece of policy is popular doesn't mean people are willing to change their allegiance for it.
