How are you doing this? The owl is the Boss that took me six hours, mind I wasn't at 17 VIT and had the Demon bell on but still I...

Spoiler!
Am now fighting him again  in a memory and I'm still dying at 19 VIT attack 11, not nearly as much as before but...

...how dude? How old are you? Are my reflexes just gone with age or do I suck balls? How many attempts did the owl take you?

Six hours?...I´m not going to have the patience for that...no boss in any Dark Souls game and Bloodborne took me that long but I can see it easily happening here. We´re not getting any younger and this game in many situations demands lightning fast reflexes in a way that DS and BB could only dream of.

In this game its like it does not let you think about doing a move, you just need to do it instantly or its too late.

It almost demands auto-reflexes :p

By the way guys, when I first spawned into the game, at the beginning you start in the well and the lady drops the paper down to you. If you turn around and go backwards from the spawn and swim through the tunnel you can see an item above you, but you can't reach it, the double wall jump isn't enough. Anybody know what that item is and how to reach it?

I guesse you can get an item that allows you to dive into an underwater tunnel at that location that gives you the option to reach that item.

I don't remember what it is but I do know you come back to it later when you have more skills. I think it was just like a crafting material or something.

Wonderful cutscene! The Bossfights are really cool and strong ratings.
And i'm ready for the next impressive Samurai-Game, "Ghost of Tsushima". It looks like "the next Generation", cant wait!!

Oh, cool! My playtime is at 66 hours; probably 55 or so legit hours, the rest afk as is the case with John. I played a bit more tonight and beat Great Shinobi Owl (that was the boss I ended up getting). I made it to the final area of the game (as denoted by an achievement I acquired for visiting all areas) and then I faced Corrupted Monk. After a few tries I had this odd behavior where the boss allowed me to deathblow him in the middle of his shadow phase, otherwise I may not have won the fight. I got another vitality upgrade putting me at 17, with 10 attack power now.

That boss was a girl? :O

I'm 30 years old. :P

The owl wasn't all that bad, I was able to deflect most of his attacks. It was my third or fourth fight perhaps. But if you had the demon bell on it's probably much more difficulty. And yeah, my vitality probably plays a part in it as well. Skill for sure plays a part in it, but there are people far better than me.

I'm making my way through fountainhead at the moment.

In my opinion they could´ve at least made that perilous attack kanji in 3 different colors, it´d help while still maintaining the very high difficulty of the game.

I'm sitting at about six hours in now. I'm at the estate right now. Fighting a giant boss with the help of a drunk guy, named Leeerrrrooyyy J-J-J-J-J-jennnnnnnkiinnnssss! I refuse to move on until he survives this fight. Trying to stealth kill as many enemies as I can before the boss notices, and Leroy goes all in.

@John2290, and all the others who are further than me. Should I be going this path directly after rescuing the Holy Kid, or should I leave the estate for someplace else?

Crap. I did not know that legit dying was the cause of Dragonrot. I thought using your resurrection powers were spreading it. I think I'm going to restart and focus on not truely dying until I face bosses.

Made it a decent way through the Fountainhead Palace. Lots to explore here. More prayer beads and I'm at 18 vitality now, with 1 spare bead. Still 10 attack power, but I've fought a few unique mobs along the way. I still don't feel as though I've explored the area enough yet; it's so wide open that I don't know if I'm looking everywhere.

I also found a super key item that's effects are pretty amazing. My stats:

Vitality: 18
Attack power: 11

Leftover skill points: 4

I'm probably done for today, as I have been neglecting my child, who has been begging me to play Yoshi with her. Plus, I really don't want this game to end. I am having a fucking blast playing through this. My main gripe is the over-saturation of mobs that require items like confetti to stand a chance.

I'll say it again, though. Sekiro is a freaking joy to play. If only we had some form of co-op or PVP so we could play together.
