Forums - Politics - Official 2020 US Election: Democratic Party Discussion

My fave candidate by far has been Andrew Yang, he's the only one who had anything to say about some of the real issues in healthcare, like how doctors are spending more time doing paperwork & asking for unnecessary tests to avoid being sued and less time seeing patients. No other candidate seems to understand the inside problems of healthcare, I love his attention to the details, details that don't get you headlines as a presidential candidate but definitely show how meticulous you are. I hate how he's constantly downplaying the effects illegal immigration has on any economy, and totally ignores the social aspects of it. I hope Bernie wins the primary, and I can't wait to see the establishment media rooting for Trump against Bernie, everyone's jaw will drop. Unlikely though, the DNC rigged it once and will rig it again if they have to. Next year is going to be entertaining.

Her real campaign was to become a Fox News correspondent anyways.

Gabbard voted present like the pathetic coward she is. She isn't even running for reelection, so her vote wasn't remotely political. She voted on her actual feelings, and did not feel Trump should be impeached. This is how she wants history to remember her. What a vile person. I'm ashamed I ever supported her, just because she supported Bernie in 2016. To be fair, I didn't know then what I know now, but wow, I'm just embarrassed that I ever liked her. Forget her campaign, she's ended her whole political career. What an absolute joke. At this point a Tulsi endorsement for Bernie would just be a stain, not a help.

But Tulsi has SO much integrity!!

It is so unbecoming and grotesque to say otherwise. Completely inappropriate to dislike this patriot, woman of the people. There were absolutely no red flags screaming for months. She's playing 4D Chess.

Hey, I saw the red flags, I just really did not think she'd go this far. I wanted to believe she cozied with dictators because she was some kind of hyper-isolationist that didn't care about authoritarianism as long as it wasn't within her borders, now I'm starting to wonder if those joking tiers some of our members put her in maybe were more scarily accurate than I realized. It's one thing to care so little about the plight of Syrians under tyranny that you cozy with Assad to promote stability for stability's sake, it's quite another to lack the courage to stand up to an authoritarian abuser of power in your own country even as you claim to be running against him. This was the easiest vote in the world to make and she fucked it.

Very bold move from Tulsi. She's trying to play the centrist game in a party which has a small moderate field left.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Tulsi did the right thing. That woman has more honor in her smallest toe finger than Pelosi has in her entire body.

What's the point of chasing another nothingburger that will embolden Trump in the long term? Remember the Russiagate? It only enforced the fact CNN and the rest are in fact fake news that pushes any headline grabbing story regardless of its merits.

Good. That was a spineless vote. Why is she trying so hard to be a Republican?

I advise you to watch this before you say someone's political career is dead. @tsogud @SpokenTruth

Impeachment is a farce anyway, he's not going to be removed, and there were so many, and I mean so many other arguments that could have been used in this impeachment but omg, he went after a fellow elite impeach him now. But Yemen? Nah. Illegal bombing of a nation? Nah. But yea, getting dirt on Joe Biden just like Hillary was doing last election? How dare he go for biden! Impeach!

There are a number of reasons for impeachment, at the same time, the arguments chosen were so bad that I honestly think I'd be more along the lines of Tulsi and she makes valid points about his actual major offenses vs the nonsense he's been impeached over. Context matters. Either way, When Bernie wins the Nomination, and he selects his VP (hopefully Nina) I'll enjoy seeing Secretary of State Gabbard. She's a member of the Sanders Institute and was encouraged by Bernie to run. Anyway That's all I'll say on this. Actually no. One more thing. When this comes around and bites the dems in the butt and gives Trump a huge boost, I'll come around to gloat and say I told you so. It'll go to the senate, he'll get acquitted and then he'll gloat and bolster his base. Good job Nancy, good job Democrats. Make the already tough to beat incumbent tougher to beat. You'll surely win the day /s
