It doesn't change the fact that it isn't new, it is already on dozen of devices.

I'm sure everyone understood you the first time. But why is that so important, that you repeat it again?

Do you want people to be less enthusiastic about this because it was possible on phones they never owned?
I'm not sure I understand the problem.

I guess I'm like the PS4/Xbox fans who don't get why people are excited for a Switch port of a game they already beaten years ago :p

This is good news for the industry. And this isnt Sony waving the white flag in the industry because there opting more devices. Much like many think MS is since GamePass becoming cross platform.
This is the type of stuff i want to hear more of. An industry that shares. Im too old for console war nonsense. This is the first step in the right direction.

Except you have to buy the system anyway to access this feature ...

It's just a clever way for Sony to lock-in some more potential customers into their ecosystem who are looking for a higher end gaming experience ...

For now, like I mentioned before, its a step in the right direction. Most likely moving forward, PS Now will be implemented and allowing more access to gamers for those who don't want to be locked into a console platform.

I don't see the point in this, when you still need to be in the vicinity of the PS4?. I guess it gives Apple devotees another reason to fondle their gear.

Atm you still need to own a PS to play PS games however with steps like this,  PSNow can possibly be implemented in the near future which doesn't require a PS console.

Its called Remote play, for a reason.

It means you play it remotely.... ei. it plays on your turn'ed on PS4 in your home.
Then it streams it over the internet to your phone (which can be anywhere, if you have good enough internet speeds on it).

Just to remember all that PSNow have been available outside of Sony devices before, just PS4 games that are still tied to PS4. It may certainly change in the future if they see more benefit doing it.

PS Now =/= Remote Play

Sony are going in a direction alright but not exactly in the direction you think it is ...

Sony will also use streaming to enhance system ownership as well and not just as a service ...
