Forums - Website Topics - VG Chartz needs a Wikipedia entry! Help us create one!

Alright, the page is in acceptably working order, but it needs more external links to verify what VGChartz says about itself.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

Objective language please. Don't ever use personal language. If you do you'll be deleted.

 Nice work.

Ioi as site owner looks bad. Shouldn't we use the real name (bratt ... (ioi)) or something like that.

Also a part for the analyst may good (TheSource and ?)

I am an admin on wikipedia. I have not deleted the article because it has been greatly improved after it was tagged as spam, and I expect it to be improved even more. However I am still not sure of its notability (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(web) ), and there may be a wider community discussion about deleting it.

I hope your first experience with wikipedia has not been too taxing, and that all of you decide to stay. (Though if OkeyDokey is only going to add "OkeyDokey is awesome!" to articles, perhaps it is better that he not contribute).

Also it is better to talk about the the article on its talk page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Vgchartz) so others can get involved.

If you need any help or have any question you can contact me on my talk page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jon513).

Where's that VGChartz thread of all the instances other people cite VGChartz? Let's just throw in a bunch of those links to show how "notable" (by Wikipedia's standards) VGC is. That'll make it notable and off the track for speedy deletion. Then just make it sound as vanilla and neutral as possible, as if written for... an encyclopedia.

The methodology section can link to the VGC methodology article. We can probably find some more haters for the criticism section. VGC has been cited regularly at Joystiq for a while now too.

I added the Joystiq citation, and the URL is actually http://www.joystiq.com/tag/VgChartz/ so as Joystiq cites VGC more, that link will actually have more citations.
