Forums - Sales - PS4/XBO/NS - 2018 vs. 2019 - Week 52 Numbers Added; Final 2019 Totals

So, less intense drop for the PS4, but still one Million down by now.

Switch still in the positives but the next weeks will be tough for it to stay on top.

Switch and PS4 are neck and neck so far this year. I guess in the end the Switch will probably win, if we take their projected numbers into account.

I have no doubt that the switch will win out this year, by a large margin. Once the lite hits in September the ps4 won't be able to keep up. But damn those ps4 sales are very impressive for such an old console.

Switch would be quite a bit higher these weeks without the upcoming new base model and the Lite, which already leads to some shortages. And yet Switch is still leading in the weekly sales.

The PS4's lead came from Winter, where it got Kingdom Hearts III plus many third party games in February and March, while the Switch had nothing notable out until SMM2 late June.

I think it would be more than a bit higher. Sales in Japan have slowed dramatically since the Lite was announced, so I'm expected sales to continue to be slow or even fall behind until September.

Well, that bit was relative...

Sorry. I now realize I missed 'quite a bit higher' and thought you were just saying 'a bit higher'.

Just posted Week 31 numbers.

Just added Week 32 numbers. The Switch was just ahead of last year's numbers by a few hundred units.

It's already amazing that the Switch is in front considering the new hardware incoming and last years July/early August were more hit-laden than this year.

When the new base model and the Lite are out, they will leave last year's sales in the dust
