Pokemon (2019) 13 32.50%

Metroid Prime 4 0 0%

Luigis Mansion 3 4 10.00%

Something else 0 0%

A not yet announced game 10 25.00%

There will be a change of format 1 2.50%

Total:40

I just hope that it isnt as bad as last year. They couldve marketed it as a smash direct and saved me those 45 minutes.

edit: Pokemon always has a reveal in their own direct, and are never the star of E3. So I'm betting on Luigi's Mansion.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I voted Pokemon, because that is the game that Nintendo will try to push the most.  However, I don't think that will be the thing that stands out the most in their presentation.

Instead I think what will stand out is the huge amount of quality content coming to Switch.  Their E3 "Direct" will be a lot like their September 2018 Direct only better.  It will have at least as much content, but the third party games will be even more impressive.  Most the of the third party games will either be exclusives or multi-plat games that haven't been released yet on any system.  On top of that 2019 is going to have a better first party line-up than last year.  Put all of that together and you are going to see their best "Direct" yet.

I’m actually thing Luigi’s Mansion. It’s the most Nintendo-y game they’ve got coming in tye near future and Luigi is almost as recognizable as Mario himself.

Given we haven't had a Direct yet this year, it feels a little early to speculate, but my guess is we might actually see a slight change of emphasis. I think this thread is simplifying Nintendo's marketing strategy at E3 in the last few years. If you think about 2016 and 2018, both the showfloor and the digital broadcast were dominated by a single title (Zelda and Smash, respectively). That isn't true of 2017. While the showfloor was designed around Odyssey and pre-E3 material suggested Odyssey was the focus, Nintendo's digital broadcast was fairly wide in scope - it wasn't devoted entirely to Odyssey and didn't have 20 minutes of Odyssey coverage. 2016 is something of an outlier in terms of digital coverage, given Nintendo's position at the time, 2017 had Odyssey positioned as the major title on the showfloor but didn't overemphasise it during the broadcast, while Smash was the basis for the showfloor and took up half of the broadcast time.

My assumption is while the showfloor will be designed around Animal Crossing - effectively designed as an Animal Crossing village you can roam around with character models, trees and houses etc - that game won't receive the bulk of E3 coverage. So it'll be similar to 2017, wherein the pre-E3 material and Nintendo's showfloor emphasised Odyssey, but their digital broadcast was much broader in scope. By way of comparison, in 2016 and 2018, both the showfloor and the digital broadcast placed a heavy emphasis on a single title.

Really what I'd like to see from Nintendo is an emphasis on how strong their 2019 line-up is going to be - and a showfloor which is part Animal Crossing village, part Luigi's Mansion, part generation 8, but I think Animal Crossing, as a major EPD release, is the likeliest candidate for this year's showfloor design. I'd expect the broadcast to be much more balanced than 2016 or 2018, though.

Agreed mostly. I also have a feeling that their unified development team model will finally start to show fruits, as we haven't seen a lot, as of yet from my understanding, from the major 3ds teams on the Switch. I have a feeling that 2019 is going to have a ton of AA 1st party games from Nintendo, with a few major AAA. This is going to be the year of Layton and the like.

Nintendo might reveal a megaton for the holidays, but i think that's not going to happen.

So, based on what we know for sure, it's either AC or Pokémon that will a big representation in the showfloor.
AC's presentation would look cute but not really engaging.
Pokémon? Unless it's something mind blowing, i don't see it being the center of the showfloor.

Personally, and again, based on what we know, i don't see one of those two games taking center stage at the showfloor.

So, they can have more than one bad E3

Animal crossing would be my guess. Nintendo did put dome Pokémon direct close to E3 the last couple years, and I think they will do that again this year.

Unless Fire Emblem is not yet released by then, as this one could be a big focus, too.

E3 last year wasn't bad though many of you just didn't like the focus on Smash bros at the end but as sales and impact of the game goes they made the right move pushing Smash, some of you still haven't accepted E3 is no longer the flash pissing contest between companies like it was a decade ago all the surprise announcements and all now fall to NDs.
