The PC version is even more detailed, even in 1440p. I've had the chance to play it in 4K on both consoles actually, and while the resolution makes a difference, some of the extra juice is missing.

Regardless, it's a grand slam on all three devices. We're definitely at that point in the gen! As far as what to "push", ray tracing isn't going to really be a serious thing even next gen (yes, I know some are hyping it like such, but it's going to take much more than that). Pound-for-pound, feature-for-feature, it will be a bigger deal on visual quality than HDR, however. If given the choice, there's no question where my allegiances would be.

Used it with Odyssey on X1X, it's nicer but can live without it.

Oh, on consoles HDR is restricted to 4K, had a 1440p HDR monitor and could not use it unless I chose to use a 4K signal. It was never native 4K, guessing it was downscaled.

My LG E6 doesn't play well with my ps4 Pro.
If I want to watch DVD/blu-ray on my PS4 pro I have to turn off "deep-color" on the LG.
So I did and forgot about it.

I was playing ni no kuni 2 and one day noticed a setting for "HDR". I then recalled that I had deep color turned off, so I decided to turn it on. I had played plenty of HDR games before, but not when my TV actually had HDR. So ni-no kuni 2 was my first HDR game on an HDR TV.

I was blown away. The affect it has on colors is amazing. I'm a large fan of HDR right now.

The difference it makes when looking at the colors is outstanding from my limited experience. This is more worthwhile than any resolution upgrade proposed this gen so far.

The effect on colours is pretty cool but I recommend playing through Alpheniem on God of a war or night race tracks on GT sport to see how  it can work on luminosty and textures. What's your favourite, Btw? 

I don't have many HDR games right now. Spider-man looked very good. Ni-no kuni 2 just looks jaw-dropping in HDR. Various VR games look good, although I can't tell if that is the HDR or the VR.

Haven't played a PS4 game since then though. I'm all in on KH3 so I didn't want to be playing anything when it came out.

I am tempted to get a cheap version of uncharted 4 simply to re-play it with HDR on.  I remember being blown away by the colors at (I think E3?) but never saw it in person.

I bought a Sony 4K for the HDR primary and the 4K secondary. if my previous TV had HDR, I would not have bought the new one.

It's not restricted to 4k. I've booted up loads of games in performance mode as well as 1080p from the menu on the pro. Also, OQ PS4's have HDR which is much less impressive but still closer to HDR 10 than 8bit. I'm not sure what you're problem would have been there but I have used three different cables now, a 15 euro one, the pro standard one and a 80 euro cable and while the 15 euro one is largely the same as the 80 euro one, the Pro standard cable (hdmi 2.0) is pretty shit, you can see the HDR but there is a massive loss in quality. Also, might have been your monitor, no? Most have a setting to allow enhanced colour that is not turned on by default, perhaps you didn't turn out HDR. 

Just Xbox then, haven't tried on PS4. It's fact that HDR only works with 4K on the X unfortunately. I cannot have it on my native 1440p, have to choose 2160p.

the HDR in red dead redemption 2 is absolute trash. hopefully this fake HDR trend ends this generation. also to anyone angered by this statement, there is actual proof.
