But is it really a good new ?

Base of the Switch in UK was 1,5+ M when the game arrived

The total base of WiiU in UK was 0,7 M

Current PB on Secret of Mana remake : 2h27 (2nd)

Well it's a port of a last gen game that costs $60 (even Super Luigi U included doesn't justify the price imo) so yeah I think this is good news

Explaining the reason for the higher sales doesn’t disprove them.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

MK8D is also a port, and still after more than a year it outsells everything except SSMU and SMP lately.

It goes both ways

NSMBU was the major launch title for Wii U, basically if you got a Wii U at launch you most likely were going to pick up NSMBU just like most people who bought Switch at launch got BotW. On the other hand, being a launch title means that first week sales are limited by the install base.

Overall it's a good start and the game will have legs.

Wait Wii u sold 700k launch week UK?

This doesn't take into account digital, so the number is likely a bit higher.

Estimates on Era put it at ~40k so that would be the 6th highest Switch opening behind BotW, MK8D, Odyssey, Let's Go & Smash.

30 K in UK approximately. I predict that the sales for it week 1 will be at least 500k worldwide, 50%+ more than original launch week (the original Launch week was in North America Only). There is a possibility this outsells the Wii U version for sure.

So basically it's behind all of the system sellers but above all of the B tier titles. I'm not that surprised honestly. How did Mario Party do week one in UK?
