For now. It's not uncommon to add lootboxes after launch.

Yeah I'm still not getting it. In fact I think the Battlefield/battlefront series are the only I play from EA. Also mirrors edge but I got the first free and the second for $5.

I'm a big fan of shared world games this gen like Destiny 1/2, SoT, Warframe, and Division 1 (2 when it drops). I've tried to be excited for Anthem but it just looks super bland and generic.

I liked warframe but had too many other games to play so couldn't get into it.

Yeah so best consumers wait till step 3 before buying. If they're cosmetic loot boxes then no problem.

This is basically what's going to happen. It's already happened before and recently with CoD, it'll happen with Anthem as well.
Publishers like EA/Acti want their money, so they'll play coy and act like they've "learned" their lesson. They never do learn, they just practice at appearing less deceptive.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Happened with Battlefront 2 as well
We will only be getting microtransactions and a billion expansions!!!!
Yay.....
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

They havent learnt shit......... just wait and see.
On a structural level the way companies like EA and activision looks at games has completely changed. They just simply no longer see games as standalone purchases anymore s they dont make games with the hope of selling 7M or 10M copies anymore. They would rather sell 5M copies and nickle and dime 5 million more worth f sales through microtransactions.
I have not bought a single ame from EA or Activisin this gen. And I never will as long as they d anything with pay to awesome in game purchases
