Yeah both Steam and Epic are basically DRM managers. IMO Online-Only DRM is much worse than regular old Launcher DRM. Online-Only threatens to make your game unplayable one day. Which is a glorified rental. An offline mode at least means you can play it on your PC forever (provided you back everything up in case files get corrupted).
