It doesn't need pushing anymore, this will be the top selling game/peripheral of 2008 regardless of the reviews cos people buy into anything they perceive to help them lose weight, i cant wait to start skiing

All the Fat Chicks will buy Wii Sports and a Wii.

50 million sales in NA confirmed.

Around the Network

I don't think game reviewer scores really matter much. I think what will really drive sales is what mass media and health magazines have to say about it.

Wii Sports should be shown on Oprah that would boost sales.

I'm sure plenty of gamers will buy it as a game (and by plenty, I mean millions). It includes many fun gaming type mini-games and will likely work with dozens of future Wii games. That's why I'm buying it :)

I doubt anyone will say that this minigame collection is worth £70... It's the controller that is most of the value in the package and to the accompanying games. The controller is what makes most people buy it, and the promise for a fun excersise

Of course, how the mini-games work and are controlled is important.

Yet another game is using the balance board.

Prizefighter to include Wii Fit Balance Board support

Train your boxer using the Wii Fit Balance Board and get fit yourself.

Don King Presents: Prizefighter will be hitting the Xbox 360 this spring, but in September the game will be released on the Wii and DS. It's the Wii version that sounds most exciting, with developer Venom Games including support for the soon to be released Wii Fit Balance Board.

"We're also including Wii Fit and the Balance Board, and we're very excited about this," said Matthew Seymour, Executive Producer, 2K Europe. "Myself and the developers love the Balance Board, and we'll be utilising that not to fight, because that would be a little weird, but for the training games. So doing the jump rope training game, and push ups and all of that kind of stuff, will all be nicely woven using the Balance Board."

That's not all either. According to Seymour the game will have fitness regimes designed by boxing trainers: "We also have famous boxing trainers putting together routines and workouts using the Balance Board and the controls, so you can really take advantage of the whole BMI system that Nintendo and Wii have in place."
