Not a fanboy just love quality games, I hate companies wanting only whats "popular" when whats popular is usually stupid, has no soul, and owned by a bunch of 10 year olds and system fanboys that buy into the image.

Sounds like you just explained the PS1, PS2, and Wii.

Heh, not entirely the Xbox and somewhat PS2 was my thought behind that post, as Xbox offered what was "cool" which is things like Halo and such, and those games they make just don't have the feeling you get when you play a quality game like Final Fantasy 7 & 9 on PS1, or Super Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii.  Wii really has hooked a lot of older people so the 10 year old statement doesn't fit well, then its a different market now so whats "popular" on Xbox might not fit Wii, I know there are plenty of souless games on Wii made by third parties that only want the quick cash in but I can't say I would seriously ever pick up a Xbox 10 years from now to play any game on it, I could almost say the same for PS2 but there were those few gems on there, while Wii I would most likely still play 10 years down the road for SMG and SSBB alone not to mention the mounds of great games mixed in with the trash on the system.

Although I used to be kind of a Nintendo fanboy, I now am a neutral, largely objective gamer. So I'm goning to defend Halo here: it rules! If there's one fps next to Half-Life that gives you that special feeling you're describing, it's Halo. It's classic, believe me.

I lean my opinions towards the Xbox360, but i have both handhelds and like them i guess equally, although GoW:CCO and Crisis Core have made my DS a bit lonely for like a month.

I always knew you were a PS3 fanboy. Don't feel left out.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Of note:

I do believe that people have the right to love the 360, PS3, or Wii, yet still hate Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo.

Because all of those companies have interest outside of gaming, and all of them have their flaws.

Poke'mon movie business and promotions.

Windows Vista and overcharging.

Faulty hardware and price gouging.

All of these companies can be annoying if taken in large enough doses.

Lucky for us, they are all top of the world videogame companies.

I just be throwin' my hat in with the OG, son.

I also believe most hate stems from hate of other fanboys. PS3 fanboys, for instance, generally, are annoying as hell and don't accept other consoles, but that's just anecdotal. They also tend to be eliteists. Most PS3 fanboys grew up with Playstation instead of Nintendo. They also tell viscious lies, like "I liked Nintendo up until this gen." Then never liked Nintendo. Their favorite game is God of Puzzle 1 which game out when they were 10, and was cool cause it showed titties.

Heh, all the game did was perfect console FPS controls, for a regular controller, as MoH:H2 has much better controls, and I don't like a game just for controls.  Halo has an overused idea, lets make an FPS, this guy is a warrior so lets call him a spartan (like so many other heroes), he is on the human side, fighting the powerful intelligent aliens (Protoss) and the Scourge that is all controlled by an overmind... I mean... >_> nevermind...

Point is the gameplay is nothing special either...

I also feel the original Halo was a great single player game. I played it on PC without knowing about its hype, and thought it was awesome. Great balance in difficulty, and the ability to respawn at autosave just back around the corner. Really well done, with very little frusteration built in the game.

oh because all the world war IIgames don't have an overused idea ???? no wait it's not even overused anymore it's dramatically anoying.... without saying that bungie might be one of the most innovative dev studio in terms of gameplay in FPS since marathon... now i'm not saying halo is the holy grail... but you are wrong... he is not a warrior who chose the human race... he is little kid abducted call john who has been modified to be a spartan warrior his name is not spartan... he is human... and you have 3 separated group of ennemies without counting the alien casts.... true I have seen a lot of games like that lol :)..... fighting the aliens the bots and the floods siding with the alien rebelion... playing the alien.... etc true... that's a lot like every FPS... come on people halo is over hyped that's true.... now saying it's just one other FPS on console I'm sorry but that was back then one of if not THE best FPS on console since golden eye and no one can deny that
