Heh, not entirely the Xbox and somewhat PS2 was my thought behind that post, as Xbox offered what was "cool" which is things like Halo and such, and those games they make just don't have the feeling you get when you play a quality game like Final Fantasy 7 & 9 on PS1, or Super Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii. Wii really has hooked a lot of older people so the 10 year old statement doesn't fit well, then its a different market now so whats "popular" on Xbox might not fit Wii, I know there are plenty of souless games on Wii made by third parties that only want the quick cash in but I can't say I would seriously ever pick up a Xbox 10 years from now to play any game on it, I could almost say the same for PS2 but there were those few gems on there, while Wii I would most likely still play 10 years down the road for SMG and SSBB alone not to mention the mounds of great games mixed in with the trash on the system. |
Although I used to be kind of a Nintendo fanboy, I now am a neutral, largely objective gamer. So I'm goning to defend Halo here: it rules! If there's one fps next to Half-Life that gives you that special feeling you're describing, it's Halo. It's classic, believe me.
