External economic factors could play a role. video games is a luxury item. Food, clothing, energy , shelter are all necessary for survival.

I do not agree. The Japanese economy is bad right now, it will improve.

Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I agree with Enterbrain. GT5, FF13, MH3, another Mario game for DS or Wii, and the rest of the 09 games will not be able to move as many systems or games as are moved in 08.
