I still have to finish the original RDR. I got to the point where there was an ambush in a barn. How much further do I have to finish the main story?

A lot of open world games are repetitive by nature, because no open world game to date has an AI that is self aware and capable of doing more than what it was coded to do. RDR2 will be chock full of different activities, but hardly more that are well and truly outside the norm of what we already do in open world games, which as a result, lends itself to repetitive actions. 

Don't forget that life in general can also be repetitive, and that's even with our own self control, so a game can be the same as a daily job as well, such as "bounties" and "taming", as well as "escorting", which will be very common within RDR2 like they were in RDR.

Seems some good reviews, not my kind of game but good for it. I'm still confused how some people are playing it however, it's out tomorrow yet there are streamers playing, some as low as like 3 or 4 viewers. So weird.

Maybe you saw some pre-recorded footage streams?

Slant Magazine just released their review and, as expected, they gave it a far lower score than the average (7/10). They do that with almost every popular game that comes out. They gave Dragon Quest XI a 6/10, Ni No Kuni II a 5/10, Mega Man 11 a 4/10, Xenoblade 2 a 4/10, Breath of the Wild a 6/10, Gravity Rush 2 a 3/10, etc.

I don't get why they're still taken seriously. It feels like they review the game based on what will be more controversial, and not what they actually think of it.

I hope I end up being right as more reviews come out.
