You know, when you say "I really want this game/these games but they don't come out on the one system I play on", that's not a hint to dig your heels in and be pedantic, it's a hint that maybe you should expand your horizons a bit. If you really love games that you can ONLY get on PS4 or Switch, then maybe get a PS4 or a Switch?

This is exactly why I have no respect for 'PC Master Race' people. It's fine to like one console/platform over another and it's even completely fine to extol its virtues, but this is just sad. "Master-Race" Mentality is the last holdout of the console wars and it needs to stop. Switch is great, PS4 is great, Xbox One is great, and all consoles have their pros and cons. cut it out.

No, I just choose to play on what I prefer playing on the most, which is my PC. I use it for work, for entertainment and gaming as well as video editing. It's my main platform that gets by ffar the most use out of it, so why should I force myself to go out and buy another system I'm rarely going to use for a multiplat game?, because you think I should?.

My "horizons" are already expanded. I own a Switch and use a mobile device. Not everyone wants to game on the systems you game on, let alone affording all of them to boot, but I'd hazard a guess you knew that already, but didn't want to make mention of that factor.

Don't forget, this is a multiplat game here, not an exclusive. I know how R* deals with their business strategies, it's not something a casual gamer would pick up on per say, but it's something I've been watching over the years, not just in R*, but with many, many other gaming companies out there.

I need no respect from others. Respect is earned not given, and I did not come to this very site to gain respect. I came here to discuss and observe data, data which is already being given to me via a specific thread, that most of you tend to ignore (which lends itself to willful ignorance).

I find it a tad hypocritical to say it's fine for someone to game on one console/platform, but when it comes to gaming just on PC, that's suddenly thrown right out the window, based purely on petty emotions and console war like mentality. You forget that the devs out there, many of them that prefer gaming on various systems, even PC as well, are you going to toss out their viewpoints right out the window over some petty thoughts on who should buy what and where?.

Console wars will never stop and as long as the big 3 are around, they will continue for as long as they want it to. It earns them money and brand loyalty.

(I also like how you mentioned only the big 3 and nothing more, no mobile or PC)

You should cut it out tbh, because you're taking this off topic and going after a forum sig like a few others have. Take it up with pem if you dislike the PC side of things on here (and pay attention to his sig as well while you're at it).

@chazore it's fine to only game on one platform, what no one likes is people going into threads and saying "not on my platform, don't care." Yeah we don't care either.

xD?

In case you didn't realize almost the entire jury for the VGA's is made up of prominent game critics, so meta score is definitely a consideration in who wins. The winner has also been the game with the highest metascore almost every year, with only a few exceptions such as the 91 meta Overwatch beating the 93 meta Uncharted 4 in 2016. Popularity is also taken into account by the jury however (which is why Overwatch beat Uncharted 4), where RDR2 also has the edge over GoW 4 since it is multiplat and looking like it will have the biggest launch of the year.

So, higher meta = goty. What a short point of view. Who could predict, that a Rockstar game will hit higher score. Its not like rdr2 is not another Open world sandbox made by Rockstar which even could be shit still can got one of the highest score. Like GTA 4 did in 2008.

Nobody at current generation took and reinvented old franchise like as Santa Monica did. They created outstanding story which beating every R game so far.

Same with the one of the most deep and satysfying combat system this generation. Where games like BOTW or Witcher 3 and many others could not delivere properly.

SSM took huge risk where  Companies like bethesda, ea, acti, even Rockstar would have never done.

I think he's trying to imply that the two games are so different in tone and gameplay that, aside from being open world, they shouldn't be compared. At least that's what I hope, because it's a fair assertion.

If he's trying to say one is clearly better than the other or one of them suck? Well, he's wrong.

The scary part about the dude meaning that one is clearly better than the other is the high probability that he hasn't played either game lol

The accuracy of this statement is staggering!

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

It's called offering an opinion. There are no rules regarding offering a personal opinion.

I dislike the console war mentality that still swaths over this site, but you don't see me pulling what you and another pull.

Well. This seems above average.

Each game has different strengths. For games like BOTW or Witcher 3, combat may not be their strongest point, but the exploration and open world concepts they provided are.

GoW is known for its combat and the journey of a father and a son (haven't played it yet so I don't know what else is there besides the gameplay I've already seen at E3 and such).

GoW is what BOTW and Witcher 3 are not and vice versa.

That's what makes games interesting. Each game, especially great ones, have aspects that work really well and standout among the rest of the crowd.

Yea i tend prefer games with amazing combat, although i do enjoy huge open world games, they just get boring at some point after you did enough exploring.

Rockstar at least know how to make open world games that doesn't sound too repetitive, most open world games today can be summarized in the "kill ten rats quest" repetition.

Wait, this is an open-world game? I haven't played the original and know absolutely nothing about the series other than cowboys and guns. Maybe it's good that I go into this with no expectation at all. Usually when I play a game I know exactly what to expect. I'm really excited!!!!!

Edit: Supposedly it can be picked up at 9:00 p.m. tonight at Target, so that's what I'm going to try and do. I just asked for tomorrow off, and my boss responded by asking me what game I'm getting.
