Forums - Sony Discussion - PS Now Will Now Let You Download PS4 and PS2 Games!

Well some people will probably benefit from it.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

There are still fairly few PS4 games available on PS Now though.
But a download feature is great. Might be something to consider in the future when the catalog grows.

I was just going to ask how is the selection for PS2 and PS4. Last time I checked it was pretty meh.

Makes a lot of sense. It's a lot cheaper to offer games for download than to run them on servers all over the place. They need to sort out the saves though. It shouldn't require a bunch of manual steps, and a ps+ subscription, to transfer saves.

I wonder if we'll get PS Now exclusives or early access to promote the service.

Sony and MS need a cheaper combo. In the long run i check they will get more return if they can have like a 120$ a year combo.

Boom.

Megaton.

Finally a piece of good news from Sony this week. This should help out the service a lot with the core gaming community. Having PS Now available on every device possible for streaming, with native playback of all titles on PlayStation hardware should be the ultimate goal. Now they just need 1st party titles available day 1 like gamepass, and they will have a dominate position in the games as a service market.

Somebody at PS must have seen your thread and pulled the trigger on PS classic and PS Now downloads. Make MOAR threads!

Awesome, closer to gamepass now. I'll definitely be making use of it from time to time.

Probably wont happen for a good few years. There is like no reason for Sony to put their premier titles day 1 when they have such strong hardware and software sales on their side.
