People hate Nintendo that much that they're going in and voting it 1?

Come on! I know this is a video game forum, but you anti-Nintendo fans can't be THAT petty =P

It's not "anti-Nintendo", it's honesty.  They showed a grand total of ZERO games of interest to me.  I WANT reasons to buy a Switch, but they're not giving me any other than Fire Emblem.

8/10, By IGN standards.

Some cool games. Nice that Final Fantasy games are back where they belong. Diablo is cool. Cities Skylines and Civ is cool.

Smash is cool too, but not new.

I was expecting one more heavy hitter though. What are all EAD divisions doing? Making DLC?

EDIT: Oh yea, DaemonXMachina looked really cool. Like a more stylish version of 90's mech games. If they do that one right it could become my favourite game of the generation.

IF they do it right.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Daemon X Machina looks great!

And what do you mean Let's Go looks like an "excuse" of a core Pokemon game? It's not a core Pokemon game ...

Didn't gamefreak say this was a core/mainline game when it got revealed?

Well I guess the first one is just a matter of tastes. Maybe it will do so good with people into mech games.

though honestly, everything about it looked unappealing to me.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

No, noooooo! They said *AND* a mainline game will come out. The mainline game comes out next year! (you can rejoice now)

You replied with:

"Didn't gamefreak say this was a core/mainline game when it got revealed?"

To which your article says:

"But yes, Pokemon Let’s Go is a core game, and no, Pokemon Let’s Go is not a mainline game. Got it?"

I'm not really sure what the purpose of separating mainline and core game is. I guess I just assumed core and mainline were the same thing. It is pretty much a spin off though. Anyways, my bad, I guess I was incorrect. Sorry about that.

10/10 - Easily the best direct since E3 2013! Wonder why they didn't just make this their E3 direct, but eh who cares about that now, this more than makes up for that blunder! Wasn't perfect of course, the online segment while it had cute animation didn't provide anything we didn't already know, but I expected as much.

From a personal perspective, naturally Luigi's Mansion 3 and Animal Crossing are the biggest highlights, but I also loved the Final Fantasy stuff, loved finally seeing Yoshi's Crafted World, liked the look of Town and seeing more Daemon X Machina, and of course, Isabelle in Smash! Getting version 4 for Splatoon 2 is good though the trailer was hella vague, but learning that Mario Tennis Aces will get more than just character updates was a neat surprise. 3DS had nothing of interest for me but thankfully it was short.

Business wise the direct is equally as awesome and makes Nintendo's future look hella bright! The new bundles will likely be hits during the holidays, plus NSMBUD releasing in January all but confirms the 20m shipped goal will be met. 2019 software line-up is already looking just as good as 2017's imo and it's not even 2019 yet! Switch will absolutely dominate next year! Begrudgingly to admit, the payed online will also be making Nintendo millions of free cash. Just have to hope they put that money to good use.

My man, Nintendo has already released/announced games for almost all their series and then some. To only be interested in one game on the system at this point can only mean you're just not interested in Nintendo games and so a Switch just isn't for you. Nothing wrong with that of course, nothing is for everyone.

I rate this a 7/10.
+ Yoshi looks like it got a graphical upgrade, and this showing was much better than the one on last E3. Might actually but this one. Was the standout game for me.
+ Aside from the three holiday exclusives, third party support is coming along nicely. Cities Skylines shadow-dropped, Diablo, Warframe, Civ, Starlink, Megaman, Team Sonic Racing and more for the holiday.
+ a trillion FF games (I don't give a shit about FF, but looking at people reactions I guess it was a good thing)
+2019 is already looking better than 2018 in terms of first party (ANIMAL CROSSING FINALLY! Luigi's mansion 3 looked cool too.)
-Daemon X Machina looks like utter dogshit
- lets go pokemon looks like an excuse of a core pokemon game
- wasnt sold on the online sub (only NES games? c'mon ninty, you can do better than this)
-wasted a smash character slot on fucking isabelle. fuck that.

What kind of edge has gotten into you ?

I mean, if it's not your thing, that's okay. But let's be honest, pretty much the majority has taken an interest on the game for what it looked like.

Also, this is a nice obvious Armored Core spiritual sucessor right there ! I would be surprised seeing anyone interested in the mecha genre not to be drooling on it.

I know that. Though if this is my ranking, why would I rank it based on other people's preferences rather than mine?

Well yeah I did use other people's preferences when it came to the seven FF games, but that was because I'm not educated enough on that matter to make a judgement myself.

Just asking to be more introspective, basically. I mean I don't like or have any interest in the Animal Crossing franchise but I can easily think about what the others feel about it to  know how valuable it's announcement was after the Direct.

Then what would even be the point of this thread, if everybody had to rate this being more introspective? All the scores would be the same, and the thread would be useless.

The point is to express your own opinion, not the consensus's. The consensus will show up by itself in the poll and when you read replies back to back.

I loved this direct, 10 :)
