I might be a little on the conservative side, but Mario Kart didn't launch in Italy, Scandiavia, and most of the other countries that make Others. It only released in UK, Germany, Spain, Benelux and maybe an other county or two.

I don't believe it will sell 1 million in Others + Japan first week.

You do realize that the UK is 32% of Wii Userbase, France Germany is 38%, and it MK also released in Italy, and Spain which are about 15%. And then it release in Benelux countries, maybe 5% or so... So at worst case 10% of the Wii userbase in Others did not recieve MK(if it came out in Austrailia make it like 5%)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

It hasn't released in Australia yet. As pointed out before, it sold 205k +/- 15% in UK.

Loads available in stores!

What I mean is that more stores have had more copies of the game in compared to previous releases like SMG. Looks like retailers here are starting to realise the sales potential of Wii games.
