That's nice. Castlevania fans disagree. I'll point out the obvious flaw in your pre-judgement, which is of course, that there are no details about the game available, so you couldn't possibly know what your talking about. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that it will be very similar to Castlevania DS.
Which in turn is very similar to Symphony of the Night.
Which in turn, is one of my favorite games ever.
2D castlevania is the only way it should be done, imo. You would probably agree. So, what exactly is the problem? Do you just want the series to die, because it continues to be one of the greatest experiences around, with each new itteration, imo.
Why do you think so many people show up on posts and yell, "Damnit! Enough with the DS!!! I don't own a DS and want to play this!!! Make it for my system FFS!"
Why? Because it's awesome.
Just my opinion. Of course, you are always entitled to yours.
However, I suggest you play Portrait of Ruin, which has a few twists on the old gameplay formula, and my favorite portable Castlevania.
I do, however, find it tough to swallow, that any human would want the 2D castlevania series to come to an end, and let the 3d one live on. It's like burning the Mona Lisa and drawing a "I Blame Wii-Fit" sketch to replace it.
Just...no. The Castlevania series still ranks amongst my favorites because of the portable games and SotN. These games do nothing but help the franchise. I equate disliking them due to gameplay, with calling Galaxy a rehash.
