So PS4 MAU is almost 3 times more than X1

We don't know either PS4 MAU or X1 MAU, do we?

PS4 is not like XBox, which is always on standby unless you unplug it.  Most people I know turn the PS4 console off completely, myself included, unless suspending a game in standby mode.

It's exactly like Xbox One in that regard actually. The standby mode is optional on both. You can properly turn your Xbox One off if you so choose (I did when I had one) and you can also have your PS4 set to automatically come on to download updates etc.

You do not need to be signed into PSN to use Netflix.  Even the X1 does not have it locked behind XBL.

Yes, you do. You don't have to pay for PS+, but you do need to be signed into PSN. No PSN connection = no internet connection and no internet = no Netflix.

My X1 appears to be powered down, but is always in standby.  This does not matter if I do it from the controller and select "turn off" or by the touch button.  The only time it ever powers off is when it is unplugged.  I do have one of the models that was still bundled with kinect however, so maybe newer models are different.

Wait, so the PS4 doesn't auto-log you in when you turn it on?  You have to manually do it every time?  That sounds awful.

No it does, but when PSN is down I can still use netflix, therefore it is not required.

I assume that does count people like me who have not touched their PS4 in months but still have it plugged in while the PS4 is constantly checking in in standby mode.

Not true. When you first boot up your xbox for the first, they give you the option to have it on standby or shut completely down when turned off, during the setup. Which you can of course, change any time.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Is there an option in the settings maybe?

I had one that was bundled with Kinect too and I remember changing the settings to have it properly turn off.

Maybe thats it then.  I must have selected the wrong option or just plain forgot.  My mistake then.

Where did you get that from? We don't know any exact numbers for PS4 or Xbox One. The last numbers we have of both is 80 million (PSN) and 59 million (XBL).

Though admittedly Xbox probably does count PC, so I think when comparing just consoles it's probably about 80 million to 40 million, which would be half.

If PS4 is 3x more as you say, than xbox, than it would be just 26.66 million mau for xbox consoles while 32.33 for PC's, which wouldn't really make any sense.

This thread suggests 80M MAU doesn't it? XBL MAU was like 35M last reported we heard on VGC.

Earlier in this thread I posted that I estimated PS Plus subs to be at 15 million max.

Apparently they managed 31.5 million in December alone. Holy freaking crap!

If the average subscriber pays $8 per month for the service (no idea what the actual number is), that's 252 million dollars per year JUST on subscriptions fees.
