your forgetting that a Buisness has to pay things like taxes, its location, its employees, and its stock. each of these eat up a considerable part of its profits. If you don't like the fact that it is not wrapped in plastic you don't have to shop there to get your games.

Well put, which is why I no longer shop there.  I usually go to Best Buy or Circuit City for new games, or hit up my local Cash Converters for used games, they are usually at least $5-$10 cheaper then GameStop for the same games, even recently released ones, plus sometimes you get lucky and find some hidden gems too... a couple years back I picked up a Saturn with 1 regular controller and a copy of Nights + analog controller all for under $30 total!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I've had problems there before. Thats why I go to Game Crazy, or just buy from Amazon.

But do the pawn shops take the games back if they don't work?

I only have ONE issue with gamestop. Super Smash Bros Melee.

Gamestop... USED copy:
shelf price = $35

Best Buy... 2 minute walk down to the end of the mall complex. NEW unopened copy:
shelf price = $30

wtf?

 ROFL

that's cause SSBM is so rare now

I've pre-ordered GTA IV from Gamestop. I've never had any problems with them.

I like the way they act almost like a bank. When I was purchasing a PS3 from them I used to pop in and add another €20 to my balance each week leading up to the consoles launch.

No other game outlet offers that service where I live.

Actually YES!  In fact Cash Converters gives you 14 days for games/software, and 30 days for hardware or electronics to exchange or get store credit... so their return policy believe it or not is actually BETTER then Gamestops!  I bought an old PSone game there awhile back and the disc skipped halfway through the game and i couldnt clean it, so i took it back a few days later and they let me have another game for same price!  Of course being that it's a pawn shop all sales are final, so i only buy stuff that i really want and i don't buy high priced items either.
