Elden Ring will give you the longer experience, and Ratchet is the quick fix.

If it's the console that you are still on the fence on, then I would focus on whether I really want it or not.

I would get it, if you have an opportunity to do so. A delay would only continue such thoughts.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Got an invite to buy a PS5 from Sony. Really not the best time, since I just started a new job and have like 5 games in the middle of playthroughs, but its probably not getting any cheaper anytime soon, and I don't know when I'll be able to buy one net, so I guess it's time.

I get free shipping if I buy a game with it, so I guess I'll do that. I'm trying to find something not on PSPlus. Ratchet and Clank and Elden Ring seem like the best choices, but I'm not super jazzed about either. Any other recommendations?

You can consider Horizon FW which is great and in the next few months you will have GoW which is great. You may consider FF7R Integrade which have content that is exclusive to PS5 if I'm not wrong, but that is in case you like FF and haven't played 7R yet.

Seems likely that Saber Interactive has taken over KOTOR from Aspyr.

Embracer doesn’t say this is about the KOTOR remake, but it’d fit, given
@jasonschreier’s reporting

“One of the Group’s AAA projects has transitioned to another studio within the Group. This was done to ensure the quality bar is where we need it to be for the title.”

From the Schreier Bloomberg report

The fate of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic remains unclear. In May, Embracer announced that Saber Interactive would also join the project. Some at Aspyr believe that Saber, which has mainly been doing outsourcing work for the project, may take it over completely.

This does not leave me with any confidence either tbh Saber is basically like Aspyr except for several more modern ports and a couple titles to call their own. They're very B-movie like in their games. They are much more well setup to take on a project such as this, but my expectations in the quality department have diminished some.

If it improves the quality of the end product cool, but a little sad that Aspyr "lost" their chance to step up.

Spoiler!

Seems like we got a leak here.

The strike on the content makes it seem more likely it really happened.

I didn't want to do Horizon FW because I still have Zero Dawn on my shelf waiting to be played. But, the Horizon bundle was the only PS5 available, so I didn't really have a say in the matter. On the bright side, the free shipping is automatic if you have PSPlus, so I didn't have to buy another game.

Integrade is on PSPlus premium which I plan to get at some point. I already played 7R. Liked it, but not enough to play it again yet, but if I can just do the DLC stuff, maybe I will.

Gotcha, so R&C is really the best one available over there for you. Sackboy is quite cool as well.

It seems like the 2023 showcase is when many SIE studios will be ready to show what they're working on, at least in terms of extensive gameplay and not a CGI teaser, but there are a few wildcards like PixelOpus, Media Molecule, Bluepoint, that may have something ready this year. Guerrilla Games and Insomniac are the only studios I expect to give us a major updates for this showcase. With that in mind, Sony's output for 2023 is still looking strong, without including any potential acquisitions like Arrowhead that may happen down the line.

First Party:

- SpiderMan 2
- Guerrilla Games multiplayer project
- Horizon Call of the Mountain
- Asobi Team VR project
- MLB The Show 23

Third Party Exclusives:

- Final Fantasy 16
- Forspoken
- Arrowhead's project
- Tchia

And rumored deals/timed exclusives:

- Half Life Alyx for PSVR2
- Bioshock 4 timed
- Firewalk's new project?

I would assume Naughty Dog will have factions ready for 2023 as well. Also, I never know what Media Molecule is doing. I hope they release an actual game this decade.
