Loving GT7 although the penalties on the Sport Mode are quite obnoxious. Yesterday a person hit me on the side and made my car a little to the side where I ended up making contact with another car and I was the one punished (the one that hit me haven`t), very small touching on a wall that decelerated me costed a 5s punishment, keeping my line while someone was trying to pass me on the outside got me a punishment on forcing the person to go off-track and in a similar situation when the person forced the turn and hit me I was the one that got the penalty. Lost some races and good positions from this oddities.

The PlayStation banner has recently been updated with Death Stranding replacing Concrete Genie.

Perhaps Kojima Productions is the next acquisition?

If that is their 'big' acquisition.. meh. I do like Kojima's games but this doesn't move the needle for me, like at all. With the way the industry is being gobbled up, Sony would be better off getting something else with a popular IP attached to it.. and since they already own Death Stranding.

Jordan Middler (reporter for VGC) said that the rumor couldn't be substantiated, and that it would cause mass hysteria.

I don't think it's really happening at all. I am sure Sony will buy a publisher eventually, but I doubt there was anything real to what was rumored this past month.

But besides that, I don't think Kojima Productions would be big enough to cause "mass hysteria". So even if there was anything real to it, I think the Konami suggestions make a lot more sense.

But it's very odd that Sony added Death Stranding for the banner. They largely use their banner to specify studios/units, which could mean it's XDev. Or they are changing how they are using the banner.

I doubt Sony would tease a Kojima acquisition like this, and I doubt they would let an acquisition leak again after Bluepoint.

Sony does own the Death Stranding IP, maybe they just adding it there? They probably would acquire a Konami or Capcom instead. Same thing they own Bloodborne and Demon Souls.

Sony should acquire FromSoftware from Kadokawa Corporation at this point

I bet the Saudi Prince has his eyes set on Capcom next after getting that absurd stake in SNK

The only major acquisitions that could cause mass hysteria would be EA or Take Two.

Kojima and his studio are good, but they wouldn't classify as big acquisition imho, only a single game released and that quite possibly belongs to Sony (we heard from Insomniac that Sony only funded new IPs if they would belong to them).

Jeff Grubb has confirmed the big Sony acquisition is not Kojima Productions.

Yeah for Bluepoint, they were teasing for a while. And it was leaked through a Japanese Tweet lol. Think they'd be a lot more careful now.

As with most of the so called leakers or 'industry insiders', its a lot of guess work and supposed hearsay's lol. Though on the very rare occasion they might get something whether through pure luck or they might have some actual correct information on sources. Like Jeff Grubb was pretty much bang on with PS Plus sub with the three tiers of the new PS Plus with names and timed demos - https://www.nme.com/news/gaming-news/playstations-game-pass-rival-is-reportedly-close-to-launching-3169535 but has been wrong most of the time xD

Idk, its a wait and see.

Yeah thats true. I mean they are talent devs and would make match for Sony but I don't feel they need to be acquired tbh. And yeah it was XDev that co-developed the game (as support) and published by SIE.

Hmm, so SE it is! lol (jk).

Nothing Playstation related to talk about?

So I'll complain about the Sports portion of the GT7.... the punishment are bonks. I have seem quite the odd things, like someone ramming from behind and getting no punition, someone hitting my side and making me hit another car on the side and only myself getting a punition, very harsh punition from small touching, keeping your line while someone tries to pass from the outside and being punished as if forcing someone out of track (while when on the outside I brake a lot to not touch the one inside and the person don't get punishing), etc. And well there are some morons that just ruin our race, like sending you far off track and making you lose 10s (and well the punition is basically double edge, so if you get 1s punition it will means 2s lost against your competitors because of the breaking and accelerating during the punition).

Also the 3 legendary cars BS... I have already bought what would classify as 3 Le Mans winners from the legendary dealership but no trophy and researched and seems like no one got it yet except a hacker that put all cars on his inventory at once and a tester that forgot his account was attached to trophy site. So everyone is betting it is 3 specific (and likely very expensive cars) that were also part of trophy in GT5 and GT6. Basically three rivals at a Le Mans race far in the past.

This one is a day old but That Spiderman design is amazing

Oh yeah. Hands down the coolest suit in any of the games. I usually swap between it and the Spider-Verse kit when I'm zipping around the city.
