These are games that I actually played that were released these years and enjoyed the most compared to others, didnt actually play them the year they came out. I dont play many games so the choices are kinda easy, at least for the first years.
1995- Rayman (barely remember playing this)
1996- Crash Bandicoot (childhood memories)
1997- Golden Eye (so much fun with 4 way split screen and friends)
1998- Zelda: Ocarina of Time(was obsessed with the horse)
1999- Gran Turismo 2(I loved these car games)
2000- Final Fantasy IX (second fav FF)
2001- Final Fantasy X( My fav ff and first PS2 game I bought)
2002- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City( so many things you could do)
2003- Pokemon Colosseum ( one of the 3 games I had on my GC)
2004- WoW( does this even count? if not then GTA: San Andreas, hard year)
2005- Shadow of the Colossus (amazing game and year)
2006- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
2007- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare(4player Splitscreen was still amazing)
2008- The Last Remnant(need to finish it lol)
2009- Demon's Souls (The start of a journey)
2010- Civilization V(hard year but only needed to look at hours played on steam)
2011- Dark Souls (going deeper down the rabbit hole)
2012- Farcry 3( this game surprised me, although there was lost potential)
2013- DOTA 2(again does it even count? crappy year for consoles, maybe Pokemon Y)
2014- Nothing worth mentioning( Well "This War of Mine"was decent)
2015- BLOODBORNE( By far the best game I have played, reached the bottom of the rabbit hole)
2016- Dark Souls 3( better than anything else this year)
2017- Nioh( hated the random loot and stats aspect)
2018- Been Busy this year but I played and loved all 3 previous God of Wars so the choice is obvious.
