Point is that some people are buying Switch in order to play some great 3rd party games in full handheld mode also, games like Skyrim, Doom, Fifa, NBA, Rocket League, Darks Souls, Dragon Ball...definatly are pushing some people to buy Switch, best selling Switch games are Nintendo games but 3rd party games are selling quite good also, quite better than they were selling on Wii U and even on Wii.

One week dont change nothing really, and it's not point if Switch is little ahead or PS4 is little ahead, point is that sales are very comparible. June will be win for PS4 most likely, but rest of months will be interesting. If I recall Switch last year sold around 2.5m in Nov-Dec period combined whitout single deal or bundle, this years with Pokemon and Smash Bros with potential some deals and bundles, hardly that Switch will sell less than 3m combined in Nov/Dec period, so we probably talking around 3.5m combined for Nov+Dec.

switch Sold 2.3 million last year for both months. i rememeber people saying the samething when pokemon came out on 3ds in october 2013, holidays sales were down for that year. by yea 3.5 million lets continue the hyperbole just like switch was suppose to destroy ps4 this year. last year switch a huge advantage in pent up demand.

That again dont change nothing, 2.3m with Mario Odyysey and Xenoblade 2 whitout any deals and bundles, this years with Pokemon and Smash Bros with potential some deals and bundles, will hardly make Switch sell less than 3m combined in Nov/Dec period, so we probably talking around 3.5m combined for Nov+Dec, so expecting only around 200k better than last year is ridiculous, and that has nothing with this years PS4 sales (stop moving goals). Demand for Switch will also raise how lineup is getting stronger, espacily in Q4 period that will be quite stronger than last year.

I haven't looked at it, but I'm assuming it doesn't include The Last of Us 2.  It would need to have a game at least that big to have a chance against the Pokemon + Smash momentum that is going to be coming from the holidays.

Off the top of my head, Resident Evil 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, Anthem, Days Gone, Metro Exodus, The Division 2, and possibly Devil May Cry 5 (Spring release).

That's a pretty good list of software, but I don't think it's going to be enough to take Q1 2019.  One huge factor is that PS4 is an aging system and most people that want one have already bought one.  Switch is new, and people are waiting for their key game before they get one.

So, I think PS4 is going to dominate this year up until November or December, and then Switch will take over the hardware charts.  This is really about Generation 8 dying off and Generation 9 coming into its own.  It will happen right at the end of this year.  That's when Switch will overtake PS4 for good.

PS4 2nd year (2015) x Switch 2nd year (2018)

Jan - 190k / 270k
Feb - 340k / 280k
Mar - 330k / 310k
Apr - 175k / 170k
May - 155k / 165k
Jun - 370k
Jul - 220k
Aug - 210k
Sep - 355k
Oct - 275k
Nov - 1540k
Dec - 1580k

Switch is ahead by 5k.
From Resetera.

Switch will probably win Nov and Dec.

Based on this, I think it's clear that the Switch will lose June/September/maybe August. It will win all the others. It only depends on how hard it loses the three months if it wants to win

Yeah, PS4 will most likely win June and Sep, but Switch could win almost every other month, I expecting that alone Dec will be 2m+.

probably to a very small insignificant  disagree, all i see is nintedo games in all the charts for switch.

Switch is ahead only because it extra week in jan, lets not forget that, otherwise we are looking at it being 45k behind, i see june it falling behind by 150-170k, for December/nov i see 2.5 million combined, it wont beat ps4.

"It doesn't matter if Switch or PS4 is ahead"... "but I decided to say anyway since Switch was ahead with one week bonus"
