I've never been a hardcore Star Wars fun but I found TFA and Rogue One were the best SW movies since Empire Strikes Back. And I was absolutely shocked how bad The Last Jedi was :/ Pretty much the only thing I liked about it was character development of Kylo Ren and even that was made pointless because how boring and "perfect" Ray was. Even my wife hated it and she's not too picky. 

So from now on I'll just rent any new SW movies until they get their shit together.

They're looking at less than $400m after this last weekend's 77% drop.

I overestimated way too much. I was thinking this could get to at least $700 million WW. I don't consider myself a true SW fan, but I put way too much benefit in the doubt.

Not a hardcore fan either, as I didn't care too much to see the movies week one or whatever. But I did indeed see all the movies made since my birth in cinema, Solo will be the first that I won't see. It didn't start with TLJ though. TFA was a massive disappointment, Rogue One redeemed a bit so I decided to see TLJ to see if they do anything... nope. TLJ managed to be even worse than TFA.

Don't really care about all the SJW stuff, TFA and TLJ were just bad movies in the SW universe.

See, this is kind of where I'm coming from, except I also don't appreciate forcing identity politics in people who are frankly better off ignoring that ideology.

 

I know I would be a lot happier not knowing there are people out there who think we need equal rights for everyone regardless of race, gender, and religious orientation while also unironically saying white straight cis Christian men are the root of all problems.

That is why he named him.  But, that was just his last name.  There wasn't some weak explanation about how he got it.  And like I said, in the OG trilogy, no one made a face or comment about it, meaning it was a pretty normal last name in that galaxy.  Them having a recruiter give it to him, meaning it wasn't just a normal last name, and using the word solo (which I don't think has been used in the franchise, except when to refer to Han's last name), takes it out of that galaxy and into ours.  Same goes for the politics they put into the last two films.  Hell, Rian Johnson even thought it would be an awesome reveal to have the camera move over some near the end of Ep 9 and we find out it is current day USA while the events of Ep 9 was happening.  They are taking it out of the "a long time ago and in a galaxy far, far away."

Production and marketing are at 450 Million apparently, so it will need around 700 to break even.

Solo made $2.96M on Mon, dropping below $3M on Day 11. RO didn't drop below $3M til Day 25. Solo is currently 52.2% below RO for the same point in time. If this continues, Solo will make $254.38M at the DBO. If the FBO percentage holds it will make $447.85M WW.
