If you truly do enjoy that style of "journalism" or opinion then you're adding to the problem that is games journalism today. I feel like you play devils advocate to the point of just being a dick.

I guess I am a bit masochistic, it's probably also why I always call myself worthless and intentionally cause pain and uncomfortability to myself.

@VGPolyglot- This game really is the perfect match for you, and it even contains Death Metal music. Lots of options to take the story any which ever effed up place you want to take it. It's a good time I tell you. So I hope you are able to get the cash together for this one to be able to play it sometime soon.

This game didn't appeal to me before, and it doesn't now. Would have worked better as a movie or a TV series.

I'll probably get it someday, especially since I was born in the Detroit area and frequently visit it, so I want to see the landmarks

All reviewers should be forced to post their gamerscores, trophies, and steam achievements. That way people can look, see how many games a reviewer has played, and then laugh, at the freelance writer giving a score of 4/10 (Because he has almost no achievements and doesn't actually play videogames for fun.)

There was a game on X1 that a female reviewer gave some negatives on the review and scored lower (probably 80) than some fanboys wanted.

They persecuted the girl demanding her gamescore to see how much she played and to see if she wasn't a Sony fangirl.

One point is that most reviewers use the company login instead of their own, because those games are review material for the company not them.

@thread: I love how many people says that if you don't give large value on the grades why are we commenting and also complaining about we disagreeing with trolling reviews... but then they are here also saying it doesn't matter but keep pestering.

Eh, let me rephrase that. Freelance writers (male or female) should not be hired to write reviews of videogames, when they obviously don't play videogames. But too many sites just want the extra traffic that having a "video game reviews" section brings. And they want it as cheaply as they can get it, so they hire freelance writers. The end result is that the lowest common denominator stuff like FPS gets higher scores than usual, and the niche stuff gets panned more than usual.

Errrr but but but, reviewers are all very professional, or so I heard.

Overly emotional isnt a good thing. Sometimes he just gets his characters into scenarios that are so unbelievably forced your just immediatly taken out of the experience. See all of Beyond: Two souls such a fucking mess of a game.

That entirely depends on the individual.  There have been some incredibly popular and successful melodramas that are simply ridiculous if you look at them under a microscope.

Yeah thats what I mean i put that the wrong way. I wanted to say overly emotional isnt ALWAYS a good thing, Sorry for the confusion.

Reviewers used to be professionals. Not anymore though, at least not many. Your son is the perfect example.

My son? Do you mean GT5 because I love it?

Sorry, was a typo...autocorrect on my ipad. Was meant to say „yours“ is the perfect example for unprofessionalism in gaming journalism these days.

You must be living in a bubble to say reviewers are professionals that don't give scores for click bait....

I'll give one example... girl reviewed GT5 for a 4/10 with the justification that simulators are pointless and racing in circles is meaningless.

Are you also going to downgrade the 3 review sites that gave the game a 95/100? If so than your point is valid, if you are just going to nit pick the 2 low scores than you need to nit pick the 2,3 high scores as well.

Imho it makes a difference if the number strays by 20% from the middle, as in your GT example...or by 40%, as in Detroit‘s case.

Who makes that rule, You?
