It's a tall order to recreate the books/movie trilogy. But I think Sony could pull this off, but a single studio like Santa Monica wouldn't be enough as it would need investment and manpower on levels beyond GTA. They'd probably need something like 2 thousand people working on it.

I hope this dream come true someday.

I have played a lot of LOTR game and yes I would like a PS4 or PS5 trilogy made top notch.

I’m not sure how such games would work though, who’d you play as? Maybe it would work fairly decently during Fellowship because for most of it everyone’s together, but during Towers and Return you’d have to be multiple characters in different locations, or it would have to be level-based following the chapters in the book.

The last 2 games especially the return of the king one was awesome! Probably the best movie game aside from maybe spidey 2

I got the second of the three for Xbox as a gift back in the day and couldn't get into it at all.
