I only played Halo 3.

Halo 2 is no where near rubbish. But comparetively speaking it is the least liked of the three is what I have been getting as the general feeling. The campaign was no where near as memorable as the other two but the online play was amazing.
IMO, Halo 3 tho haven't played much of each
I purchased Halo 1 & 2 back when Halo 3 was released. I barely played them, but I loved Halo 3. My opinion is skewed, but I'll say Halo 3 was best. 4-player campaign FTW!
To me Halo was good but I liked the feel of the campaign in 2 & 3 better. Maybe because everything was on a grander scale in the last two. I think Halo 3 was the best overall.
