Ok... there was only this single player games issue, if ever. Everything else is fine and dandy.
Hunting Season is done...

Single player games never really died out to begin with. The only difference between SP and MP games today, is that MP games receive a lot more marketing and buzz from the multiple outlets and communities.
I'll find it funny though, when that same crowd who thinks SP gaming is dying/dead, turns around to go "feh" when MP games go through a similar phase.
Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see
So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"
It's more expensive to make a AAA single player than a multiplayer. You don't need to spend dozen multi million dollar budget and years developing for a multiplayer game to be successful. A cheap multiplayer game can print rivers of money and have decade+ longevity, it's just about whether the formula is able hookup people (examples of old titles that teem with longevity: CS, Dota and League of Legends).
The upward cost of development for an AAA SP game now is the reason most third parties are avoiding to launch their titles on only one platform, releasing it among all platforms available (no more third party exclusives).
