Forums - Sales - Playstation 2 original Vs. Playstation 2 slim

Y porque atacaste al wii en tu mensaje?... digo... I mean... Why dd you attack Wii's vertical stand in your message? I think its what makes it great (and thats my opinion...) but since you were talking about PS2's differences, it seemed odd... Anyway, I don't like either of them, but that's just me.

Welcome to the forums cebrian!

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Just my 2 cents but the old PS2 looks CLUNKY and outdated. It has no smooth lines what so ever. And the tray loading mech that you seem to love is what broke on my old one. It would get stuck and only come partially out. Less moving parts is good. and you add in the big network adapter to the already big ps2 and its even more clunky looking. (built in adapter on slim) and you are making the PS3 sound huge, it aint that big compared to a old ps2 w/a network adapter. and your smaller = less good mentality is baffling. "It is closer to not existing that the original. It represents less power. At first glance, there is a bigger chance of your eye missing it." do you like fat girls too? no way your eye can miss those and you know those skinny girls are just toooo close to not existing.

I remember reading that Jak X had glitch which corrupted the data. It was said that it affected 2 models of the BIG PS2 and all models of the Slim. That is the only disadvantage I have seen when getting a slim PS2.

I don't think anyone's going to buy that game any time soon. Not only did the game recieve poor reviews (around 76%), but it hasn't even hit the one million mark.

What's better, a small diamond, or a big diamond?

What's better, a small diamond, or a big diamond? And both diamonds are exactly the same, except for the size.

That argument makes absolutely no sense.

Bigger diamond is better than a smaller diamond. Bigger PS2 is better than a smaller PS2. Well, I guess size truly doesn't matter (I've been staring at the Ratchet and Clank's PSP title too long), for if the old PS2 had the slim PS2's design, and the slim PS2 had the old PS2's design, I would like the slim PS2 better. Yeah, it's not the size. It's the look. The older PS2, which happens to be bigger, just looks nicer, to me.

I dont like fat girls, but i definitely love tall girls :P er... on to topic. I think the old PS2 looked like a black cable modem, the xbox like a vhs vcr... (im not saying they were particularly ugly or anything, just that they reminded me of something else). I actually liked gamecube's design in that it was unique and unlike something else... besides that, I think a console measures by its games and not its looks, so I guess its kind of pointless to say if the old one or the new one is the bestestest and the other one is for suXoXOxors if what really matters are the games you like and that are or are not in that specific console.

Also... why is this thread here since it doesnt talk about sales? it should be in the offtopic forum isnt it?

That's not how it works. You get many more times the material with a larger diamond. With the PS2, you don't get a single extra byte of processing power. So that analogy is completely false.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I am not comparing the bytes of both consoles, I am comparing the size of both consoles. In consoles, I think bigger is better, because not only do you get more for what you pay for, its existence in more abundant since it occupies more space, it stands out more, and you get more of it. Also, I think the old PS2 just looks nicer, which I already stated many times before.
