i like slim because it is cheaper, it was cheaper for me to buy and it is neater in my household. SLIM FTW!

Let's assume that it's not cheaper, and the quality is the same as the older model. Basically just design verses design. Would your opinion change?

Ugly??? When you think of a PS2, the older one is usually the one that comes to mind. Also, when you put it on the blue vertical stand, it looks 100 times nicer! At least I think so. No love for Crash... No love for PS2 fat boy...

I'm not sure why you like the big, fat old PS2 so much... If we assumed they were the same price and the same quality, there's no question that I'd get the slim version...it's smaller, and the logo design is definitely more modern than the blue logo on the old PS2. The old one's just plain ugly I guess...

I like the BIG one. I still have my original PS2, purchased March 2001. Havent had any problems with it, just the original controller. Since I only owned the big one, the slim one simply looked weird. In fact, the first time I saw one, which was about a year ago , I laughed at it. It looked ridiculous. I still think it does. I still enjoy my retro PS2. Then again, I am not a fan of change, once I am used to something. Sure, I have a Wii, but I plan on getting a PS3 late 2008.

Yeah, it is a little bit big, but not nearly as big as the Atari 5200, Xbox, or Playstation 3.

but aren't we comparing old ps2 vs. new slim ps2, and not the xbox, atari or ps3? anyways, i like the slim more tho i don't own it yet. maybe when i can find better justification for buying a slim while my old one still works.

I remember reading that Jak X had glitch which corrupted the data. It was said that it affected 2 models of the BIG PS2 and all models of the Slim. That is the only disadvantage I have seen when getting a slim PS2.
