Good sales all around. Great to see the Xbox within striking distance of the Switch.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I really appreciate all of these charts.   XB1 is doing really well this year.  I'd like to see the console's sales broken down by model.  Some are saying that it is due to XB1 X, but I think it is mostly the low end model and its cheap price.

Also, (not on these your charts but) I have no idea why 3DS seems to be up YoY this month.  What is driving these sales?  Detective Pikachu?  I just don't know.

I think some are hedging their bets that it might not have a successor in the same format and its still got a huge catalog of games that many want to play. It is still the best size for kids as well. I still plan on buying three this year. 2 for my nieces and one for myself. I doubt it will have a very short tail like the Wii.

The Switch might weirdly be driving 3DS Sales. The switch puts Nintendo back into the spotlight, therefore putting some of that spotlight on the 3ds. Just a theory though
