Forums - Microsoft - Why are there so many XBox 360 haters on gaming forums?

God, why can't everyone just enjoy the company of videogames, and not take bullets for them.

Jesus christ.

i wouldn't say i'm a "hater" but generally, i dislike the xbox idea, since, it's clear that they make the consoles just for money, where Nintendo really makes the difference!!

how can they simply make a remote for xbox360??
come on, for god's sake, don't they have a brain??
(a brain in order to think of something NEW on their own)

But Nintendo, on the other hand, makes games out of pure love, and their only goal is to spread happiness and joy worldwide. right....

/sarcasm.

come on, Nintendo was one of the first companies to create consoles, there's no company who want's no money, but MS has overdone it.......

at least Nintendo manages to bring happiness and fun...... what you said is not sarcastic..... :P

games like Mario  Galaxy are made out of pure love :P making people happy to play it

that's why Nintendo's games are much more successful and original than MS shooters

What he said was flamebait. It was meant to insult and offend by being risque. I simply responded with prudence. Read my replies, they may seem harsh at first, but they aren't personally insulting to the man. His grammar, perhaps, but that is just because I had trouble understanding what he was trying to convey. Prepare yourself, because I'm going in again. This is a response to his response, so I'll try to make it nice and friendly for everyone.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

okay, you are using FOX news tactics. Okay I can roll.

1.Fire emblem isn't a major franchise (what? 2-3 game boy games and 1 console game?) So I never mentioned it with the milked games

Wait, what? Go check your facts, that's all I'll say.

2.I have owned a wii game since launch, I used violence as an example, because it is detailed, you don't usually see a really detailed mario jump attack. (i guess you could also blame this on the wii's inadequacy in graphics (I think i spelled that wrong))

Don't worry about spelling. I won't blame anyone for spelling errors, I make them all the time. However, the Wii has what you should consider the best violent game on any console, which is Resident Evil 4. Sure it's a port. You wanna talk about Nintendo first party games being violent, well, perhaps that is more of a design choice than laziness or inadequacy. Perhaps you should come to realize that everything that you don't like isn't necessarily "only for kids."

3. Mario kart. How could you say that looks good? It's colorful, to hide it's ugliness. *looks for pattern in all mario games*

Alright, man, comeon here. Don't play me for a fool. That's a PS3 fanboy talking point. Lets get this straight bro, the games made by Nintendo are quality. They don't have to be graphically excellent, the machine they are on sacrafices that for affordability. Instead, they have other advancements, but more importantly their gameplay is fun. Graphics, my friend, are what I like to call "cosmetic." If you hate the Wii because of its graphics, that's fine, but don't hate the developers and call them lazy, because it makes it seem like you think the Wii is capable of 360 quality graphics. It's not. In fact, I'd wager that most of the 1st party Nintendo games this gen have more work and development time put into them than most big 3rd party games.

4.Really? Maybe that's why people say the subspace emissary mode sucks.

So, it was news to you? Subspace Emissary does suck, but I can assure you my friend, it wasn't because of lack of money spent on a storywriter. Again, lack of story is simply a design choice you disagree with. More importantly, you don't own Brawl? I thought you had a Wii. Why are you going by "what most people say." Why don't you go by "what you say." You have played it right. I mean, your grouping it in your broad criticisms. Surely you've played all the games you hate so much.

5.Yes I do believe so. An example: well... all of those franchises I mentioned (pokemon is too obvious, all that's different is the new pokemon, that get more ridiculous each installment) I can only own so many games in each franchise, and play so many. And, yes, I think they are lazily developed, or more likely, made "safe" taking no risks and making the franchise the same each time a game is released. (EX: Madden)(I have a clear point, but You gotta think about it)

I understand your point. It simpy was presented poorly earlier. You say that the games play it safe with their development, by not expanding or changing the IP's. Indeed if your argument is that the games have always used the same base gameplay engine, like Madden, you're wrong. If you claim they use the same theme, premise, storyline, and goals, then you are correct. This is done to appease the immense fanbases these games have accumulated. Not because Nintendo has gotten lazy and doesn't want to make games anymore so they copy and paste code. You must understand my point. If these games weren't of very high quality, and if they weren't rabbidly loved by their fanbase, they would change or cease to exist.

Same with MGS, same with Halo, Same with GTA. In fact the only valid example I could accept of a game completely reinventing itself each series, would be Final Fantasy, and many of the fans are perpetually pissed and hate every new installment of the series. Indeed, I think the fanbase would prefer constant remakes of Final Fantasy VII with new story, to the FFX and FFXII entries.

I see your point with the "you don't know what your missing" philosophy when you recreate the same IP's, but surely you see the merits of keeping your fanbase happy while still delivering quality and freshness. The Poke'mon games, for instance. I'm not entirely sure you've ever played them. However there is a RABID fanbase for that series. Nintendo would be frankly, the dumbest kid on the block, to change them up. When they do, with Pokemon stadium, or Pokemon snap, those games sell poorly.

Not to mention, you said 20 years earlier. Mario and Zelda have both reinvented themselves during both the SNES and N64 eras, and Mario has once again with Galaxy, reached a new height. Would you say Mario Galaxy is a cashin, or lazy game? If you've played it, you certainly couldn't, I don't care how much you hate "mario" games, you can't call that a cashin. It's silly. It's like calling the Mona Lisa a doodle.

6.And finally the last part:

Again, I DO OWN A WII, and I have probably owned mine longer than you.

Probably. I own a PS3 and have probably owned mine longer than you have.

#2 I never said it wouldn't be fun for old people, the wii ads make sure that message gets across

(accidently left out)

I'm 26. My very existance disproves your broad stroked statements, does it not. Perhaps you can call me a fanboy and marginalize my opinion. In fact, I consider people your age, "kids" which is frankly, the truth, if you really are 16, then by your own logic, the Wii should be right up your alley.

Nintendo games are fun.. for the first 30 minutes. Then anyone who likes more than Ooooooh HOOOOO itsa mario! will be watching TV. My point is, they're not deep, and it takes more to hold an adults attention.

Because Fire Emblem, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Earthbound, none of these games can really hold an adults attention. Games require storyline, graphics, and violence to do that. You can't be serious.

#3Oh and You insult me? Eyerytime you post on an xbox, or ps forum you become the Dr Jekyll of VGChartz

I've developed quite the reputation, not because I'm evil, but because I am a great communicator and I can easily communicate intelligent response when I see ignorant and hateful malice being portreyed towards any system. I simply choose the Wii as my champion, because well, I love Nintendo, I love my Wii, and I love gaming. If you knew me you would also know that I like my PS3 as well, however, I don't find need to insult other peoples favorite anything, nor slander it with broad generalizations aimed at angering others for my own pleasure, or my favorite console's standings.

You attempt to marginalize the Wii with your statements. That is clear. "The Wii is just a kids system, so it doesn't matter how well it sells, or how many great games it's got." You're beind the times. The kiddy stigma was popular when Wind Waker was around. You won't win that argument at this point in time. Best to pull up Wii-Bingo and reroll. I suggest "The Wii is for casuals" or "The Wii's gamerankings numbers over 80 percent, lawlz."

Thank you for your kind reply sir.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

360 haters? Wii haters? PS3 Haters? What's the difference?

Something is going to be hated by someone. People just like to bitch.

PS.

People please stop injecting logic on Strategyking.. It's like trying drive a nail to a steel using you're palm. He's 10 for christ sake.

Because PS3 is not doing well simple as. It's just fanboyism. Also they must not be playing their consoles much if they on here flaming. (maybe no games). :) To be serious it's because new companies always get hated. Remember PS1 haters. There was loads.

Love is whats most important.

Because it's not a good console.

MGS4!

The real question: what percentage of the 360 haters actually own a 360?

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

I guess it would be a very small percentage.
