The PS4pro has times when its 60fps, but its mostly in the 50's fps range (drops to like 45, and others runs 60).

Who is saying this? I haven’t actually read any reviews to avoid seeing any media on the game. I thought it had a central hub with exploration and Metroidvania elements, like Darksiders? I read that somewhere and my hype meter went way up. Bummer if that’s not actually true. What reviewers are talking about linear?

I don't think it's overly linear. The lovely, spoiler-free review posted by estebxx in this thread seems to indicate otherwise. It's the only review I've looked at or read, so maybe there are others who feel differently.

GoW got another 98 score for MC today, but it wasn’t enough to push it to 95. Still one spot away.

From other answers on the forum, what other reviewers were saying is that the game is semi-open and as you said Metroidvania.
