I wonder if there might another collaboration-project like Mario+Rabbids. Nintendo and Bethesda seem very close these days

GTA V would be awesome

A new labo-kit, definitely?

Because those are the exact titles that make Nintendo systems' sales "very, very strong".

Better having one game per franchise each 3-4-5 years than being yearly to be honest.

I have nothing against Nintendo's tactic of releasing the same games every gen (in fact im waiting for the next Mario Party and 2D Mario game) as they sell tons for good reasons.  I just thought at first that this 'unannounced' would be something new or something 3rd party, but my gut just tells me its probably just another Nintendo game we could have already guessed.

Every company releases the same games every gen... not just Nintendo...

But who knows, it could be something totally left field, Nintendo's mentality has seemed to change enough where that seems to be one of their priorities. We'll see.

Last year was amazing because it had great momentum throughout the year, with 2 huge system sellers spread out through the year. I hope they don't release a bunch of major titles so close together this fall/holiday.

It is obviously Animal Crossing.

Pokemon Switch 2018?

I think Pokémon will be a 2019 game. The 2nd half line up should be something like this:

August: Yoshi

September: Animal Crossing

October: Mario Party

November: Super Smash Bros.

December: Fire Emblem

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I kind of think this Gamestop rep would say more or less the same thing regardless of what is coming out. Smash is authentically a big game, but he could also say that Fire Emblem and Metroid Prime 4 are big surprises coming out this year. I am not expecting another really big first party game from Nintendo other than Smash Bros.

Now there might actually be a third party surprise coming. GTA 5 would authentically be a big surprise game that hasn't been announced yet for Switch. If there is a big surprise, I would guess it is something more like this.

This exactly! Why is this a Nintendo negative only, other companies do it or slap a new name on the game but it resembles an already established franchise. With Nintendo its not the fact that a new game is coming in the franchise, its that Nintendo makes gameplay paramount and you aren't just getting something you've played before with a slightly different story. Case in point BoTW they usually do something big gameplay wise that makes the title unique in the franchise.

Smash has already been announced for this year and AC seems all but confirmed at this point given what's going on with the website right now. So those 2 on their own will be more than enough to drive Switch sales at the end of the year. If we get anything else big (like Prime or Pokemon actually hitting this year), then sales will be insane.
