 No, the PS3 can only read Blu-Ray discs.  I don't think there are any proper player/burners on the market yet...well at a price under £1000.

Actually, now that I check, www.pricegrabber.com has Sony 50GB Blu-ray media at about $35 a pop.

PD: don't surprise for the good numbers of PSP in Spain, its a "Sony-country" in console market. (In fact, the good numbers of Nintendo are surprising in this state)

Good to see euro numbers but are the uk ps3/xbox360 numbers right? On the weekly official chart track software top 40 the ps3 has as many ps3 games on the chart as the xbox360 has and on the amazon top sellers list in the uk the ps3 is ahead of the xbox360 99% of the time and is always in the top 10. Yet on the vgcharts numbers the xbox360 is out selling the ps3 by 2 to 1?!?
