You point out something telling it's silly, only to follow up with something that's even far more silly. GoW selling 10 million is certainly possible with the hype if the sales ain't very frontloaded, but for Smash doing less than that it must be a totally broken failure to achieve such low numbers On a console with adequate sales numbers like the Switch.
As for 3D Mario vs Animal Crossing: AC is generally the bigger seller, because apart from 64, Galaxy and now Odyssey, they really don't sell that well. 7.5M for Galaxy 2, 6M for Sunshine, 5 for 3D World. And all of them had bundles (especially Galaxy, Sunshine and 64) helping their numbers even further. The real sellers are the 2D Marios, which normally sell about 3 times as well as the 3D ones.
That said, Odyssey is an obvious masterpiece and selling appropriately. It will, without a doubt, outsell any other 3D Mario by a country mile, considering the best-selling one is 64 with 11.9M sales (Maybe even as soon as the IR Meeting next week). While AC is bigger, it's just slightly so. It will get tough to beat Odyssey for Animal crossing

Animal Crossing (Mainline) games are historically bigger than 3D Mario, at least in terms of sales. You have had that shown/proven to you in the past with figures. Your table shows 2 games which were both spinoffs and major cashgrabs, especially Amiibo festival. As for the Wii version, yes that had subpar sales but the impression i got for that was because the game buying public saw it as too similar to wild world. If you want to do comparisons, then compare wild world and New leaf with past 3D Mario titles, as these were the mainline Animal Crossing iterations for their respective consoles. Admittedly in any other metric 3D Mario is bigger and yes, i'm sure the next Animal Crossing will have a tough time competing with the masterpiece that is Odyssey. However, if the trend of Nintendo franchises selling best ever figures on the Switch and if the next AC is truly groundbreaking and is a great game, then, sure it has a shot at beating out Odyssey in LT sales.
As for Smash Switch not selling 10m on Switch.
1. LOL!
2. Any game that has enough built up hype that it goes to #1 on Amazon the DAY AFTER the reveal with literally no gameplay/release date info shown other than 2018 is going to be massive!
3. Did you not see the reaction Videos to the reveal? Youtubers and others were literally screaming and crying!
4. "OMFG! OMFG! OMFG! It's all they needed. It's all they needed baby!" :- Etika 2018.
